1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future reference. Danger, warning, and caution notices are provided for your safety.

  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or rinse it under the tap.
  • Always put the ingredients to be fried in the basket, to prevent them from coming into contact with the heating elements.
  • Do not cover the air inlet and the air outlet openings while the appliance is operating.
  • Do not fill the pan with oil or other liquid.
  • Always check that the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord, or the appliance itself is damaged.
  • Keep the mains cord away from hot surfaces.
  • This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
  • The appliance is intended for household use only.

3. Before First Use

Unpacking and Initial Cleaning:

  1. Remove all packaging materials from the appliance.
  2. Remove any stickers or labels from the appliance (if applicable).
  3. Thoroughly clean the basket and the pan with hot water, some dishwashing liquid, and a non-abrasive sponge.
  4. Wipe the inside and outside of the appliance with a moist cloth.

4. Setup

Placing the Appliance:

  1. Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal, and level surface.
  2. Do not place the appliance on non-heat-resistant surfaces.
  3. Place the appliance with at least 10 cm free space on the back and sides and 10 cm free space above it.
  4. Plug the mains cord into a grounded wall outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

The Philips XXL Air Fryer allows for frying, baking, grilling, roasting, and reheating with minimal oil.

Basic Operation:

  1. Pull the pan out of the appliance.
  2. Put the ingredients in the basket. Do not exceed the MAX indication.
  3. Slide the pan back into the Air Fryer.
  4. Turn the temperature control dial to the required temperature.
  5. Turn the timer control to the required preparation time.
  6. Some ingredients require shaking halfway through the preparation time.
  7. When you hear the timer bell, the set preparation time has elapsed.
  8. Pull the pan out of the appliance and place it on a heat-resistant surface.
  9. Empty the basket into a bowl or onto a plate.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Clean the appliance after every use. The pan and the basket have a non-stick coating.

Cleaning Procedure:

  1. Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
  2. Wipe the outside of the appliance with a moist cloth.
  3. Clean the pan and basket with hot water, dishwashing liquid, and a non-abrasive sponge.
  4. For stubborn dirt, soak the pan and basket in hot water with some dishwashing liquid for approximately 10 minutes.
  5. The pan and basket are dishwasher-safe.
  6. Clean the heating element with a cleaning brush to remove any food residue.

Storage:

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely. Make sure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the appliance in a dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

This section summarizes the most common problems you could encounter with the appliance. If you cannot solve the problem with the information below, visit the Philips website or contact the Consumer Care Centre in your country.

Fresh potatoes are not crispy.You did not soak the potato sticks properly before frying.Soak the potato sticks in a bowl of water for 30 minutes, dry them with kitchen paper, and then add a little oil.
