2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: Keep out of reach of children. Contains flammable gas under pressure.

  • Do not keep the cap open when not in use, as butane gas will leak out.
  • Avoid lighting the lighter for more than 10 seconds continuously to prevent overheating of the cap and flint.
  • Use only high-quality butane fuel. Do not mix different types of gas fuel, as this can prevent ignition.
  • After refilling, wait approximately 3 minutes before attempting to ignite the lighter to allow the gas to stabilize.
  • Ensure the lighter is completely cool before refilling or performing maintenance.
  • Do not expose to temperatures above 120°F (49°C) or prolonged sunlight.
  • Do not puncture or incinerate the lighter.

4. Initial Setup

Your Yusud Butane Fuel Lighter is shipped empty due to air mail regulations. It must be filled with butane fuel before first use.

4.1. Refilling with Butane Fuel

  1. Ensure the lighter is cool and away from any ignition sources.
  2. Turn the lighter upside down.
  3. Use a butane gas bottle with a long nozzle. Insert the nozzle firmly into the refill valve at the bottom of the lighter.
  4. Press down firmly for 5-10 seconds. Repeat 2-3 times to ensure a full fill.
  5. After refilling, wait approximately 3 minutes for the gas to stabilize and reach room temperature before attempting to ignite.

4.2. Adjusting Flame Height

The flame height can be adjusted using the dial at the bottom of the lighter.

  1. Locate the flame adjustment dial on the bottom of the lighter.
  2. Using a small flat-head screwdriver, turn the dial towards the '+' sign for a larger flame or towards the '-' sign for a smaller flame.
  3. Test the flame after each adjustment until the desired height is achieved.

5. Operation

Operating your Yusud Butane Fuel Lighter is straightforward:

  1. Open the protective cap. Note that gas will begin to release as soon as the cap is opened.
  2. With the cap open, firmly rotate the flint-wheel with your thumb to create a spark and ignite the butane gas.
  3. Once ignited, the flame will remain active as long as the cap is open.
  4. To extinguish the flame, simply close the protective cap. Ensure the cap is fully closed to prevent gas leakage.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Butane Refilling

Refer to section 4.1 for detailed instructions on refilling your lighter. It is recommended to deflate any remaining gas before refilling to prevent mixing of fuel types.

6.2. Flint Replacement

Over time, the flint will wear down and need replacement. The diameter of the replacement flint should be less than 2.2mm.
