3. Setup and Installation
The Intellinet PoE+ Extender is designed for simple, tool-free installation. No external power adapter is required as the unit is powered directly by the incoming PoE signal.
3.1. Connection Steps
- Ensure your PoE source (e.g., PoE switch or injector) is powered on and functioning correctly.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your PoE source to the PoE IN port on the Intellinet Extender. This cable will provide both data and power to the extender.
- Connect one or two Ethernet cables from the PoE OUT ports on the Intellinet Extender to your PoE-powered devices (e.g., IP cameras, wireless access points).
- Verify that the link/activity LEDs on the extender and connected devices illuminate, indicating a successful connection and power delivery.

3.2. Mounting Options
The device can be placed on a desk or mounted to a wall using the integrated mounting holes. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
4. Operation
Once connected, the Intellinet PoE+ Extender operates automatically. It transparently passes data and power, extending the reach of your PoE network without requiring any configuration.
4.1. LED Indicators
The device features LED indicators on each port to provide status information:
- Link/Activity LED: Illuminates when a valid network link is established and blinks to indicate data activity.
- PoE LED: Illuminates when Power over Ethernet is being supplied to the connected device.
Refer to the product label for specific LED behavior details.
5. Maintenance
The Intellinet PoE+ Extender is designed for minimal maintenance. Its fanless metal case ensures reliable and silent operation without moving parts.
- Keep the device in a clean, dry environment.
- Ensure proper ventilation and avoid blocking the ventilation holes.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth as needed. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Intellinet PoE+ Extender, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
- No Power to Connected Devices:
- Ensure the PoE source connected to the PoE IN port is active and providing sufficient power.
- Check all Ethernet cable connections for secure fit.
- Verify that the connected devices are PoE-compatible and within the power budget (up to 25W per port).
- Test with shorter, known-good Ethernet cables to rule out cable issues.
- No Data Connection:
- Check the Link/Activity LEDs on both the extender and the connected devices. If they are off, check cable connections and the status of the upstream network device.
- Ensure all cables are properly terminated and not damaged.
- Confirm that the network devices are configured correctly for data transmission.
- Intermittent Connectivity:
- Inspect cables for damage or kinks.
- Ensure the operating environment is within specified temperature and humidity ranges.
- Reduce the total cable length if it approaches the maximum recommended distance (200m with one extender).
