4. Setup and Installation
This section provides general guidelines for installing your macerating pump. Professional installation by a qualified plumber is highly recommended.
4.1 Placement
- Position the pump as close as possible to the sanitary fixtures it will serve.
- Ensure there is sufficient space for maintenance and ventilation.
- The pump should be placed on a stable, level surface.
4.2 Connecting to Fixtures
The pump features 5 ports for various connections:
- Toilet Connection: Connect the 100 mm discharge from the toilet directly to the main inlet of the macerating pump.
- Water Inlets: Use the 32 mm and 40 mm inlet pipes for connecting to sinks, showers, or other wastewater sources.
- Outlet Pipes: Connect the 22 mm or 32 mm outlet pipes for discharging the macerated waste to the main drainage system. Ensure the check valve is installed in the outlet line to prevent backflow.

5. Operation
Once properly installed and connected to the power supply, the HOMCOM Macerating Pump operates automatically. When wastewater enters the pump chamber, a float switch activates the motor, which then macerates the solids and pumps the liquid waste through the discharge pipe.
- Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free before first use.
- The pump is designed for intermittent use as wastewater is generated.
- Avoid flushing foreign objects (e.g., sanitary products, wet wipes, large food scraps) into the system, as this can cause blockages and damage to the macerator blades.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your macerating pump.
6.1 Cleaning
- Monthly: Pour a specialized macerator cleaner or a mild descaling solution into the toilet bowl (if connected) or directly into an inlet. Allow it to sit for the recommended time before flushing or running water through the system to activate the pump.
- Annually: For a more thorough cleaning, disconnect the pump from the power supply and carefully remove the cover. Clean any accumulated debris from the macerator blades and pump chamber. This should ideally be done by a qualified technician.
6.2 Inspection
- Periodically check all pipe connections for leaks.
- Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage.
- Listen for unusual noises during operation, which could indicate a problem.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your macerating pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
