Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the walkie talkie is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
- Slide the cover downwards to remove it.
- Insert the Lithium Ion battery into the compartment, aligning the contacts correctly.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and slide it upwards until it clicks into place.

2. Charging the Battery
- Connect the charger adapter to a power outlet.
- Connect the USB data cable to the charger adapter and the desktop charger.
- Place the walkie talkie into the desktop charger. Ensure the charging contacts on the radio align with those in the charger.
- The charger light on the radio will indicate charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).
- A full charge typically takes approximately 3-4 hours.
3. Attaching the Belt Clip
Align the belt clip with the screw holes on the back of the radio and secure it with the provided screws.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Volume Control
- To power on the radio, rotate the Power/Voice Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click.
- Continue rotating the knob clockwise to increase the volume. Rotate counter-clockwise to decrease the volume.
- To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
2. Channel Selection
- The KD-C1 has 16 pre-programmed channels.
- Use the channel selector knob (located next to the Power/Voice Volume knob) to choose your desired channel.
- Ensure all radios in your group are set to the same channel for communication.
3. Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit, press and hold the large Push-to-Talk (PTT) button located on the front of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
- Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and to receive incoming messages.
- The signal light will illuminate when a signal is being received.
4. Channel Scan
The radio supports channel scan to check for activity across all 16 channels. Refer to the specific programming instructions if you wish to enable or disable this feature, as it may require specialized software.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the radio's exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid overcharging and completely discharging the battery. Store the radio and battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
- Water Resistance: The KD-C1 is designed to be waterproof. However, avoid submerging the radio in water or exposing it to extreme moisture for prolonged periods. Ensure the battery cover is securely closed to maintain water resistance.
- Antenna: The antenna is integrated. Do not attempt to remove or modify it.
