4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps carefully to install the new carburetor. If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified technician.

  1. Preparation: Ensure the generator engine is off and cool. Disconnect the spark plug wire. Turn off the fuel supply valve and drain any fuel from the carburetor bowl.
  2. Remove Air Filter Assembly: Carefully remove the air filter housing and any associated ductwork to gain access to the carburetor.
  3. Disconnect Fuel Line and Linkages: Disconnect the fuel line from the old carburetor. Note the routing of the throttle and choke linkages before carefully detaching them from the old carburetor.
  4. Remove Old Carburetor: Unbolt the old carburetor from the engine. Remove and discard the old gaskets.
  5. Install New Gaskets: Place the new mounting gaskets in their correct positions between the engine, insulator (if present), and the new carburetor. Ensure they are properly aligned.
  6. Mount New Carburetor: Position the new MOTOKU carburetor and secure it with the original bolts. Do not overtighten.
  7. Connect Linkages: Reattach the throttle and choke linkages to the new carburetor, ensuring they move freely and correctly. Refer to your generator's service manual or take photos during disassembly if needed.
  8. Connect Fuel Line: Reconnect the fuel line to the new carburetor. Ensure a secure, leak-free connection.
