Setup and Installation
Mounting the Thermometer
The GuDoQi window thermometer is designed for simple, self-adhesive mounting on the exterior of a window pane. Follow these steps for proper installation:
- Clean the Surface: Ensure the chosen area on the outside of your window is clean and dry. Remove any dust, dirt, or grease for optimal adhesion.
- Prepare for Adhesion: Carefully peel off the protective film from the adhesive backing on the thermometer.
- Attach to Window: Firmly press the thermometer onto the desired location on the window pane. Apply even pressure for a few seconds to secure it.

Important Placement Note
To ensure accurate temperature readings, avoid placing the thermometer in direct sunlight. Direct sunlight can cause the thermometer to absorb heat, leading to artificially higher temperature indications than the actual ambient air temperature.

Operation
The GuDoQi window thermometer is designed for straightforward operation, requiring no batteries or complex setup once installed.
Reading the Temperature
Simply look at the transparent dial through your window. The black needle will indicate the current outdoor temperature on both the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales. The thermometer is designed to provide accurate readings across a wide range of weather conditions.

Maintenance
Cleaning
To maintain clarity and appearance, wipe the thermometer's transparent dial and housing with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning materials, as these can damage the acrylic surface or the internal components.
Detachment for Cleaning
The thermometer is designed to be detachable from its adhesive base. To remove, gently twist the main body of the thermometer counter-clockwise and pull it away from the window. This allows for thorough cleaning of both the thermometer and the window surface. Reattach by aligning and twisting clockwise until secure.
Troubleshooting
Inaccurate Readings
If you suspect your thermometer is providing inaccurate readings, consider the following:
- Sunlight Exposure: Ensure the thermometer is not positioned in direct sunlight. Relocate it if necessary to a shaded area on the window.
- Minor Calibration Adjustment: For small discrepancies, you can gently rotate the dial left or right. This can often correct minor variations.
- Major Calibration Adjustment: If the value difference is significant or in an abnormal situation, you can perform a more precise recalibration. Carefully pry off the back cover of the thermometer. Inside, you will find a calibration screw. Adjust this screw slightly to align the needle with a known accurate temperature (e.g., from another calibrated thermometer or a weather service).
