Setup and Assembly

2. Attach the main barbecue bowl to the central column/base using the provided hardware. Ensure all connections are secure.

Operating Instructions

1. Lighting the Charcoal (QuickStart System)

The Barbecook Loewy 40 features an innovative QuickStart system for easy and efficient charcoal ignition.

1. Place charcoal briquettes or lump charcoal into the charcoal bowl. Do not overfill.
2. Locate the QuickStart ignition port at the base of the central column.
3. Insert a crumpled piece of newspaper or a firelighter into the QuickStart tube from the bottom.
4. Light the paper/firelighter through the opening. The design of the QuickStart system will create a chimney effect, drawing air through the charcoal and igniting it quickly and evenly.
5. Allow the charcoal to ash over (turn grey) before placing food on the grill. This typically takes 15-20 minutes.

2. Heat Control (Adjustable Air Inlet)

The barbecue features an adjustable air inlet to control the intensity of the heat.

• Increasing Heat: Open the air inlet wider to allow more oxygen to reach the charcoal, increasing the burn rate and heat.
• Decreasing Heat: Close the air inlet partially to restrict oxygen flow, reducing the burn rate and heat.

3. Grill Height Adjustment

The chrome-plated cooking grid offers 3 positions for height adjustment, allowing you to control the cooking temperature relative to the charcoal.

• Higher Position: For slower cooking or keeping food warm.
• Lower Position: For searing or faster cooking.
• To adjust, carefully lift the grid using the handles and place it into the desired set of notches on the barbecue bowl.
