3. Safety Information
- Do not short circuit the battery terminals.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
- Charge only with the specified charger.
- Keep batteries and charger away from water and excessive heat.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the battery or charger.
4. Setup and Initial Use
4.1. Charging the Batteries
The dual bay charger allows you to charge one or two BP-828 batteries simultaneously.
- Connect the supplied USB power cord to the charger's input port.
- Plug the other end of the USB cable into a compatible USB power source (e.g., USB wall charger, car charger, or power bank). Adapters and power banks are sold separately.
- Insert one or two BP-828 batteries into the charging bays, ensuring correct orientation.
- The LED indicator for each bay will turn red to indicate charging is in progress.
- Once fully charged, the LED indicator will turn green.
- Remove the batteries from the charger once charging is complete.

Note: The charger is designed with multiple circuit protections against over-charging, short-circuit, high-temperature, and surge protection.
5. Operating the Batteries
5.1. Installing Batteries in Your Camcorder
The BP-828 batteries are compatible with various Canon VIXIA and XA series camcorders. Refer to your camcorder's manual for specific battery installation instructions.
- Ensure the camcorder is powered off before installing or removing the battery.
- Align the battery with the battery compartment of your camcorder.
- Gently slide the battery into place until it clicks securely.
- To remove, press the battery release lever (if present on your camcorder) and slide the battery out.
5.2. Battery Performance
These BP-828 Li-ion batteries feature a fully decoded chip, allowing your compatible Canon camcorder to display remaining battery life accurately, similar to original equipment batteries.

6. Maintenance and Storage
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- For long-term storage, charge batteries to approximately 50% capacity.

- Avoid fully discharging Li-ion batteries frequently, as this can reduce their lifespan.
