4. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Brother TN730 toner cartridge operates automatically with your printer. Ensure your printer drivers are up-to-date for optimal performance.

  • Print Quality: Expect crisp, clear black and white text and graphics.
  • Page Yield: The TN730 cartridge is designed to yield approximately 1,200 pages based on ISO/IEC 19752 standards (Letter/A4). Actual yield may vary significantly based on content of printed pages and other factors.
  • Dash Replenishment: If your printer is Dash Replenishment-eligible and activated, replacement cartridges can be automatically ordered and shipped to you when toner levels are low.

5. Maintenance

Proper handling and storage can extend the life and performance of your toner cartridge.

  • Storage: Store unused toner cartridges in their original, sealed packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Avoid shaking the cartridge excessively or exposing it to dust. Do not touch the metallic contacts or the drum surface.
  • Cleaning: If print quality degrades, ensure the corona wire within the drum unit is clean as per the installation steps.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TN730 toner cartridge, consider the following common solutions:

  • Poor Print Quality (Faded, Streaky, or Spots):
    • Ensure the toner cartridge is correctly seated in the drum unit and the drum unit is properly installed in the printer.
    • Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit.
    • Check the toner level. If low, replace the cartridge.
    • If the issue persists, the drum unit itself might need replacement (separate from the toner cartridge).
  • "Toner Low" or "Replace Toner" Message:
    • This indicates the toner is nearing depletion. Prepare a new cartridge for replacement.
    • If the message appears immediately after installing a new cartridge, ensure it is a genuine Brother cartridge and correctly installed.
  • Cartridge Not Recognized:
    • Remove and re-install the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly.
    • Ensure all protective packaging (e.g., orange tabs) has been removed from the new cartridge.
    • Verify the cartridge is compatible with your printer model.
