3. Setup
3.1. Receiver and Speaker Placement
Proper placement of your receiver and speakers is crucial for optimal sound performance. Position the A/V receiver in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. For the 5.1.2 channel setup:
- Front Speakers: Place to the left and right of your television, equidistant from the listening position.
- Center Speaker: Position directly above or below the center of your television.
- Surround Speakers: Place to the sides or slightly behind the main listening position.
- Height Speakers: The HT-S5805 includes Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers that integrate height channels. These speakers should be placed as your front left and right speakers, with their upward-firing drivers reflecting sound off the ceiling to create the overhead effects.
- Subwoofer: Place in a corner or along a wall near the front speakers for enhanced bass response. Experiment with placement for the best results.

3.2.3. Other Audio/Video Connections
For older devices, use the appropriate analog or digital audio/video inputs as needed. The receiver includes a dedicated STRM Box port for media streaming sticks.
