Tekswamp Replacement Remote Control for Aiwa NSX-V9000

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Tekswamp Replacement Remote Control, designed for the Aiwa NSX-V9000 audio system. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the remote control to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

2. Compatibility

This remote control is specifically designed to be compatible with the Aiwa NSX-V9000 audio system. No additional programming or setup is required for basic functionality. It provides most of the original commands for your device, including power on/off, menu access and navigation, and input signal selection.

While most functions are supported, some specific features such as page flip, keystone correction, video adjustment, and certain numerical inputs may not work properly with all devices. This remote does not include a laser pointer function.

3. Features

  • Ergonomic Design: Features comfortable, easy-to-reach buttons in a compact, rectangular body, convenient for everyday use and transportation.
  • Low Power Consumption: The electrical circuit requires minimal power, allowing the remote to operate effectively even when batteries are nearing depletion.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
  2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, carefully loosen the security screw on the battery compartment cover.
  3. Slide the battery cover downwards and lift it off.
  4. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the security screw to secure it.

Important: Always use new batteries of the same type. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Remote Control Layout

The Tekswamp replacement remote control features a standard button layout for intuitive operation. Refer to the image below for a visual guide to the remote's buttons.

5.2 Basic Functions

  • Power (Red Button): Press to turn your Aiwa NSX-V9000 system on or off.
  • Menu (MENU): Access the system's main menu.
  • Navigation (Arrow Buttons & OK): Use the directional arrow buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right) to navigate through menus and options. Press the OK button to confirm selections.
  • Input/Source (SRC): Cycle through available input sources on your system.
  • Volume (V+ / V-): Adjust the volume level up or down.
  • Mute (Mute Icon): Mute or unmute the audio output.
  • Number Buttons (0-9): For direct input of track numbers, channel numbers, or other numerical selections.

5.3 Advanced Functions

The remote includes various other buttons for advanced functions such as SETUP, AUDIO, SUBT (Subtitle), DISP (Display), HANG, ZOOM, BAND, RANDOM, STEP, SLOW, REPEAT, SEARCH, GOTO, and SHIFT. The functionality of these buttons depends on the specific features supported by your Aiwa NSX-V9000 system. Refer to your Aiwa system's original manual for detailed explanations of these functions.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To clean your remote control, gently wipe its surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's finish or internal components.

6.2 Storage

Store the remote control in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. If the remote will not be used for an extended period (e.g., several months), it is recommended to remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage to the remote.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity (+/-).
    • Replace old batteries with new AAA batteries.
    • Point the remote directly at the Aiwa NSX-V9000 system's IR receiver.
    • Check for any obstructions between the remote and the system.
  • Some functions not working:
    • Verify that the function you are trying to use is supported by your specific Aiwa NSX-V9000 model. Some advanced functions may vary.

  • ON Indicator light not illuminating:
