Setup

Unpacking and Placement

  • Carefully remove the unit from its packaging.
  • Place the unit on a flat, stable, and level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or moisture.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

Power Connection

Connect the AC power cord to the unit's power input and then to a standard wall outlet.

Antenna Connection

For optimal AM/FM reception, connect the supplied antennas to their respective jacks on the rear of the unit.

USB Connection to PC

To use the USB audio output feature, connect the supplied USB cable from the unit's USB port to an available USB port on your computer. Ensure your computer meets the supported operating system requirements (Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10; Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) to macOS Sierra (10.12)).

Operating Instructions

General Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the Power button to turn the unit on or off.
  • Volume Control: Use the VOLUME knob to adjust the overall output volume.
  • Source Selection: Use the FUNCTION buttons (PHONO/TAPE/AUX, CD, FM/AM) to select the desired audio source.

Turntable Operation

  1. Open the dust cover.
  2. Place a record on the turntable platter.
  3. Select the appropriate speed (33-1/3, 45, or 78rpm) using the speed selector switch. For 45rpm records, place the included adapter on the spindle.
  4. Gently lift the tonearm and position the stylus over the desired track on the record.
  5. Lower the tonearm slowly onto the record. Playback will begin.
  6. At the end of the record, the auto-return feature will lift the tonearm and return it to its rest position.

Cassette Player Operation

  1. Insert a cassette tape into the cassette deck.
  2. Press the PLAY button to start playback.
  3. Use the FAST FORWARD and REWIND buttons to navigate the tape.
  4. Press the STOP button to stop playback. Press the EJECT button to remove the tape.

CD Player/Recorder Operation

  1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray.
  2. Place a CD (audio CD, CD-R, or CD-RW) onto the tray with the label side up.
  3. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray.
  4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start or pause playback.
  5. Use the SKIP buttons to navigate between tracks.
  6. Recording to CD-R/RW:
    • Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc.
    • Select the desired input source (Phono, Tape, Tuner, or AUX).
    • Adjust the REC LEVEL control to prevent distortion during recording.
    • Press the RECORD button to begin recording. Press it again to stop.
    • Finalize the CD-R/RW disc after recording to make it playable on other CD players. Refer to the on-screen prompts or detailed manual for finalization steps.
  7. CD Playback Modes: The unit supports Repeat (1/ALL), Shuffle, and 32-track Program Play. Refer to the display and control buttons for these functions.

AM/FM Tuner Operation

  1. Press the FM/AM button to select the radio band.
  2. Use the TUNING knobs or buttons to manually tune to a station.
  3. For automatic tuning, press and hold the TUNING button.
  4. To preset stations, tune to the desired station, then follow the instructions on the display to save it to a preset number.

USB Audio Out to PC

With the unit connected to your PC via USB, you can record audio from the Phono, CD, Tape, Tuner, or AUX sources directly to your computer. Use audio recording software on your PC to capture the audio stream from the Teac LPR660USBPB.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Unit

  • Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.

Turntable and Stylus Care

  • Keep the dust cover closed when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.
  • Clean the stylus regularly with a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning, brushing from back to front.
  • Replace the stylus when sound quality deteriorates or after approximately 500 hours of use.

Cassette Deck Care

  • Periodically clean the tape heads and pinch rollers with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
  • Demagnetize the tape heads occasionally to maintain sound quality.

CD Drive Care

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the CD tray.
  • Do not insert damaged or warped discs into the CD drive.
