1.2 Installing the Boundary Wire
Plan your desired containment area carefully. The system can cover up to 1 1/3 acres with the included wire and is expandable up to 100 acres with additional wire. Bury the boundary wire approximately 1-3 inches deep around the perimeter of your desired containment area. Ensure the wire forms a continuous loop connected back to the Containment Transmitter.

1.3 Customizable Layouts
The system allows for various customizable layouts to suit your property's needs. You can create simple perimeters, double loops for lake access, or protect specific areas like pools and gardens by running the wire around them.

1.4 Initial System Activation
Connect the Containment Transmitter to a standard electrical outlet. The 'Power' and 'Loop' indicator lights should illuminate, confirming the system is active and the boundary loop is complete. Adjust the range setting on the transmitter to control the width of the warning zone.

- Training Only: The collar responds only to the remote, enabling you to train your dog anywhere, outside the boundary.

3. Maintenance and Care
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your SportDOG Contain + Train System.
3.1 Charging Your System
Both the collar receiver and remote transmitter are rechargeable. For the first charge and all subsequent charges, ensure they are fully charged for approximately 2 hours. The battery indicator light will turn green when charging is complete. During charging, keep the units in an open, well-ventilated area.

3.2 Long-Term Storage
If storing the system for long periods, periodically give the batteries a full charge. This should be done every 3 to 4 months to maintain battery health.
4. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Contain + Train System.
4.1 Wire Break Alarm
The Containment Transmitter is equipped with a wire break alarm. If the boundary wire is cut or disconnected, the 'Loop' indicator light will turn off and an audible alarm will sound. Inspect your boundary wire for any visible damage or disconnections and repair as necessary.
4.2 Lightning Protector
The system includes a built-in lightning protector to safeguard against power surges. In the event of a severe electrical storm, it is recommended to unplug the Containment Transmitter from the wall outlet.
4.3 Dog Not Responding to Boundary
- Ensure the collar receiver is properly fitted and the contact points are making good contact with your dog's skin.
- Verify the collar is charged and turned on.
- Check the range setting on the Containment Transmitter; increase if necessary.
- Retest the boundary with the test light tool to ensure the signal is active.
- Review training procedures to reinforce boundary awareness.
