Setup and Installation

This section outlines the steps for installing your Dust Right Canister Filter onto a compatible dust collector unit, such as the Rockler 650 CFM Wall Mount Dust Collector.

1. Prepare the Dust Collector

Ensure your wall mount dust collector is securely mounted and powered off. Disconnect any existing filter bags or canisters from the collector's outlet.

2. Attach the Canister Filter

1. Carefully lift the Dust Right Canister Filter and align its inlet with the outlet of your dust collector.
2. Secure the filter to the dust collector using the provided mounting bracket and hardware. Ensure a tight, stable connection to prevent air leaks.
3. Verify that the filter is level and securely attached.

3. Install the Plastic Dust Bag

1. Take one of the included plastic dust bags.
2. Fit the open end of the plastic bag around the bottom rim of the canister filter.
3. Secure the bag tightly in place using the provided strap clamp. Ensure there are no gaps for dust to escape.

Operation

Using the Filter Cleaner

The canister filter is equipped with an internal agitator to clean dust from the pleats, maintaining optimal filtration efficiency. It is recommended to clean the filter regularly, especially after extended use or when you notice a decrease in suction.

1. Ensure the dust collector is turned off.
2. Locate the crank handle on the side of the canister filter.
3. Rotate the crank handle several full turns in both directions. This action will activate the internal agitator, dislodging dust from the filter pleats, which will then fall into the collection bag below.
4. Return the crank handle to its flat, stored position to minimize obstructions.

Remote Control Operation (for compatible dust collector)

The included remote control allows for convenient operation of your compatible wall mount dust collector. Refer to your dust collector's manual for specific pairing and operation instructions for the remote control.

Maintenance

Emptying the Dust Bag

Regularly check the dust collection bag and empty it when it is approximately two-thirds full to maintain optimal airflow and prevent strain on your dust collector.

1. Turn off and unplug the dust collector.
2. Carefully release the strap clamp securing the plastic dust bag to the canister filter.
3. Remove the full dust bag and dispose of the contents responsibly.
4. Install a new plastic dust bag following the steps in the "Install the Plastic Dust Bag" section of this manual.

Filter Inspection and Cleaning

Beyond using the internal agitator, periodically inspect the filter pleats for excessive buildup or damage. If necessary, the filter can be removed for more thorough cleaning (e.g., using compressed air from the inside out, away from your workspace), but always consult the dust collector's manual for specific filter removal and cleaning procedures.
