Setup

1. Battery Installation and Charging

The GLL 3-80 CG operates on a 12V Lithium-ion battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use. Insert the battery into the designated slot on the device until it clicks into place. To charge, connect the charger to a power outlet and insert the battery.

The GLL 3-80 CG features Dual Power, allowing operation with either the 12V Li-Ion battery or 4x AA alkaline batteries (with an optional battery adapter, not included in this package). This provides flexibility for extended use.

2. Mounting the Device

The GLL 3-80 CG can be mounted on various surfaces using the BM 1 universal support or a tripod. The device has both 1/4" and 5/8" tripod threads for compatibility.

The laser level is equipped with both 1/4" and 5/8" mounting threads, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of tripods and mounting accessories.

3. Initial Power-On

To power on the device, slide the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position. The laser lines will immediately project. The device will automatically self-level within a range of ±4 degrees.

Operating Instructions

1. Laser Line Projection

The GLL 3-80 CG projects three highly visible green laser lines: one horizontal and two vertical. These lines intersect at 90-degree angles, enabling precise alignment and squaring tasks.

The GLL 3-80 CG utilizes green laser technology, which is up to four times more visible than red lasers, especially in bright indoor conditions, enhancing accuracy and ease of use.

2. Self-Leveling Function

The device automatically self-levels within a range of ±4 degrees. If the device is outside this range, the laser lines will flash rapidly to indicate that it is not level. Adjust the position of the device until the lines stop flashing and become steady.

3. Using the Bosch Levelling Remote App

The GLL 3-80 CG can be controlled remotely via the "Bosch Levelling Remote" smartphone application. This app allows you to:

• Adjust laser intensity to conserve battery life.
• Rotate the device (if mounted on a compatible rotating base).
• Receive alerts for calibration control (Cal Guard).

The "Simply Connected" feature allows users to control the GLL 3-80 CG remotely via the Bosch Levelling Remote app on a smartphone, providing convenience and enhanced functionality.

4. Working Range

The laser lines are highly visible up to 30 meters (98 feet) without a receiver. For extended working ranges up to 80 meters (262 feet), use the optional LR 7 laser receiver (not included).

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Keep the measuring tool clean. Do not immerse the tool in water or other liquids. Wipe off dirt with a damp, soft cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents.

2. Storage

Store the measuring tool in its protective pouch and L-BOXX case when not in use. Store in a dry, dust-free environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

3. Calibration Check

Regularly check the calibration of your GLL 3-80 CG, especially after significant impacts or temperature changes. The Cal Guard feature in the Bosch Levelling Remote app will notify you if a calibration check is recommended.
