Setup
Initial Winding
Your Orient Bambino Version 4 watch is equipped with an automatic movement that also supports hand-winding. Before wearing it for the first time or after a period of inactivity, it is recommended to hand-wind the watch to ensure sufficient power reserve.
- Ensure the crown is in the normal, pushed-in position (Position 0).
- Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 30-40 times. This will build up a power reserve to start the watch.
- Once the watch starts ticking, it will continue to wind itself through the natural motion of your arm while wearing it.
Setting Time and Date
- Setting the Date: Gently pull the crown out to the first click (Position 1). Rotate the crown counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism. If the time falls within this period, first adjust the time outside this range, then set the date, and finally reset the time.
- Setting the Time: Pull the crown out to the second click (Position 2). The seconds hand will stop (hacking feature). Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure accuracy, set the time a few minutes ahead and then push the crown back in when a time signal (e.g., from a radio or phone) reaches the desired minute.
- Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into the normal position (Position 0) to ensure water resistance.
Operating Your Watch
Automatic Movement
The Orient Bambino Version 4 features a Japanese-automatic movement. This means the watch is powered by the motion of your wrist. An oscillating weight inside the watch rotates with your movement, winding the mainspring. When fully wound, the watch typically has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop. Simply hand-wind it or wear it to restart.
Hacking Feature
This watch includes a "hacking" feature, which means the seconds hand stops when the crown is pulled out to the time-setting position (Position 2). This allows for precise time synchronization.
Water Resistance
Your watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). This rating indicates that the watch can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water, such as during hand washing or light rain. It is not suitable for swimming, bathing, showering, or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

Maintenance
Cleaning Your Watch
To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth regularly. For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, and harsh chemicals, as these can cause damage or discoloration. If the strap gets wet, dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry completely before wearing.
Storage
When not wearing your watch for an extended period, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. The original watch box is ideal for storage, protecting it from dust and scratches.

Troubleshooting
- Watch has stopped or is running slow:
This is common for automatic watches that have not been worn or hand-wound recently. Hand-wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise 30-40 times while it is in Position 0. Alternatively, wear the watch for several hours to allow the automatic winding mechanism to build up power reserve.
- Date changes at noon instead of midnight:
This indicates that the watch's 12-hour cycle is misaligned. Pull the crown out to Position 2 (time setting). Advance the time by 12 hours. The date should then change at midnight. Reset the time to the correct current time.
- Water condensation under the crystal:
If you notice condensation, it indicates that moisture has entered the watch. This can damage the movement. Immediately take the watch to an authorized service center for inspection and repair. Do not attempt to dry it yourself.
