  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'OFF', then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

4. Initial Setup and Preparation

Before using your slow cooker for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack the slow cooker and remove all packaging materials.
  2. Wash the removable stoneware pot and glass lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Wipe the exterior of the slow cooker base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
  4. Place the stoneware pot into the slow cooker base.
  5. Ensure the appliance is placed on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or other heat-sensitive materials.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to operate your OVENTE Electric Slow Cooker:

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Place your desired ingredients into the stoneware pot. Do not overfill; ensure there is at least 1 inch of space from the top rim.
  2. Place Lid: Cover the stoneware pot with the tempered glass lid.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
  4. Select Setting: Turn the control dial to your desired cooking setting:
    • LOW: Ideal for slow cooking over an extended period (e.g., 6-8 hours).
    • HIGH: For faster cooking (e.g., 3-4 hours).
    • WARM: To keep cooked food at a serving temperature. Do not use the WARM setting for cooking raw food.
  5. Cooking Process: The indicator light will illuminate when the unit is on. Allow the slow cooker to operate for the recommended time based on your recipe. Avoid lifting the lid frequently, as this releases heat and extends cooking time.
  6. Serving: Once cooking is complete, you may switch the dial to WARM or turn it to OFF and unplug the unit. Use oven mitts when handling the hot stoneware pot or lid.

Cooking Tips:

  • For best results, preheat the slow cooker on HIGH for 20 minutes before adding ingredients.
  • Root vegetables cook slower than meat. Place them at the bottom of the pot.
  • Liquids generally do not evaporate in a slow cooker, so reduce liquid amounts in recipes compared to conventional cooking.
  • Dairy products should be added during the last 30 minutes of cooking to prevent curdling.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your slow cooker.

  1. Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the slow cooker from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Clean Stoneware Pot and Lid: The removable stoneware pot and glass lid are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that may scratch the surface.
  3. Clean Base Unit: Wipe the exterior of the slow cooker base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Never immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
  4. Stubborn Residue: For stubborn food residue in the stoneware pot, fill it with warm, soapy water and let it soak for a few hours before cleaning.
  5. Storage: Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing. Store the slow cooker assembled or with the lid inverted on the pot for compact storage.
