1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1 Adjusting String Length

Proper string length is crucial for comfortable play. To determine the correct length:

1. Hold the yoyo string to your body.
2. If the top of the string reaches your belly button or 1 to 2 inches above, it is the correct length.
3. Cut any excess string.

3.2 Tying a Knot and Attaching the String

Follow these steps to prepare your yoyo string:

1. Place your index finger on the folded string and wrap the string around and under to tie a knot.
2. Pinch the string around 2 inches beneath the knot, and pass it through the knot. This creates a slip knot.
3. Place the slip knot onto your middle finger between the first and second knuckles.
4. Find the end of the new string that does not have a knot, then untwist the string.
5. Place the untwisted string in-between the yoyo halves.
6. Wind the string around the yoyo and your finger until the string is securely around the yoyo.

4. Operating the Yoyo

4.1 Throwing the Yoyo

To throw the yoyo:

1. Hold the yoyo in the palm of your hand with your palm facing up.
2. Make a muscle and throw the yoyo by releasing the muscle forward with some effort.

4.2 Returning the Yoyo (Bind)

The MAGICYOYO Y01 is an unresponsive yoyo, meaning it will not return to your hand with a simple tug. A 'bind' is required:

1. Place your left index finger directly in front of the string.
2. Bring your right hand over and down and back around the yoyo. Keep your left hand index finger to hold the loop. Pinch the loop and lower it towards the spinning yoyo.
3. Quickly release the string with your right hand and catch it with your hand.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Bearing Care

To extend the life of your yoyo's bearing, it is recommended to add yoyo bearing oil after approximately 15 minutes of use. Bearing lubricant helps maintain smooth spin and response times.

5.2 String Care

Yoyo strings can sometimes split into two strands during use. If this occurs, you can combine the two thin strands back into a single, tough strand by twisting them together. Regularly inspect your string for wear and replace it as needed.
