FISCHER Bicycle Pedals Instruction Manual

Model: Pedale MTB Kunststoff (Part No. 85836)

1. Product Overview

The FISCHER Pedale MTB Kunststoff are durable plastic pedals designed for various bicycle types, particularly mountain bikes. They feature a non-slip design for enhanced grip and integrated reflectors for improved visibility and safety, complying with German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations.

Key Features:

2. Setup and Installation

Proper installation of your new pedals is crucial for safety and performance. Please follow these steps carefully.

Required Tool:

Installation Steps:

  1. Identify Left and Right Pedals: Pedals are typically marked with 'L' for left and 'R' for right. The right pedal (drive side) has a standard thread, while the left pedal has a reverse thread. This means the left pedal tightens counter-clockwise and loosens clockwise.
  2. Prepare Crank Arms: Ensure the threads on your bicycle's crank arms are clean and free of debris. Applying a small amount of bicycle grease to the pedal threads can prevent seizing and make future removal easier.
  3. Install Right Pedal: Insert the 'R' pedal into the right crank arm. Turn clockwise by hand to start threading. Once finger-tight, use your pedal wrench to firmly tighten the pedal. Do not overtighten, but ensure it is secure to prevent loosening during use.
  4. Install Left Pedal: Insert the 'L' pedal into the left crank arm. Turn counter-clockwise by hand to start threading (reverse thread). Once finger-tight, use your pedal wrench to firmly tighten the pedal.
  5. Final Check: After installation, ensure both pedals spin freely and are securely attached to the crank arms.
