Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your TrackMaster Glowing Mine Set:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all pieces from the packaging. Refer to the 'What's in the Box' section to ensure all components are present.
- Battery Installation: The motorized Thomas train requires 2 Lithium Metal batteries. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the engine. Using a Phillips head screwdriver (not included), open the compartment, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-), and securely close the compartment.
- Assemble Track Layout: Connect the track pieces as shown in the diagram below. Ensure all connections are firm to prevent derailments. The glow-in-the-dark tracks are designed to interlock easily.
- Place Accessories: Position the tunnels, caves, barrel loader, and boulder accessories around the track as desired or as depicted in the layout.
- Prepare Thomas: Attach the cargo car to the motorized Thomas engine. Place the barrel into the cargo car or the glowing gem cargo piece near the boulder for play.

Operating Instructions
Once the set is assembled and batteries are installed, you can begin playing:
- Start Thomas: Flip the switch on the motorized Thomas engine to the 'ON' position. Thomas will begin to move along the track.
- Explore the Mine: Watch as Thomas races over, under, and through the glowing caves and tunnels. The glow-in-the-dark features are best experienced in a dimly lit room.
- Cargo Loader Interaction: Stop Thomas at the cargo loader. Lift the gate, and the barrel will roll into his cargo car.
- Gem Discovery: Park Thomas in front of the boulder to discover the cluster of glowing gems. The gem cargo piece can be loaded or unloaded from Thomas's cargo car.
- Expand Your Railway: This TrackMaster set is connectable with other TrackMaster train sets and expansion packs (sold separately) to create a larger, more exciting motorized railway.
