1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Torklift True Frame Mounted Tie Down System (Models T2303 and T3307). This system is engineered to secure your truck camper by attaching directly to your truck's frame, enhancing stability and handling. Proper installation and use are crucial for safety and product longevity.

Figure 1.1: Overview of the Torklift T2303 and T3307 True Frame Mounted Tie Down System components. This image displays all four tie-down units, including two front and two rear assemblies, designed for secure truck camper attachment.
2. Product Compatibility
This Torklift True Frame Mounted Tie Down Bundle (T2303/T3307) is specifically designed for the following vehicle:
- Vehicle: 2016 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab with 6.5ft Bed, 4x4 Only
It is critical to verify your vehicle's make, model, year, cab configuration, and bed length match these specifications to ensure proper fitment and safe operation.
Note: Rear Tie Downs will not work with aftermarket Mopar rear-mounted kick-out steps that are installed under the bumper.
3. Safety Information
Read all instructions carefully before installation and use. Failure to follow these instructions could result in property damage, personal injury, or death.
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during installation, including safety glasses and gloves.
- Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the parking brake engaged before beginning installation.
- Do not exceed the weight capacity of your truck or the tie-down system. Consult your truck's owner's manual for weight limits.
- Regularly inspect the tie-down system for wear, damage, or loose fasteners. Replace any damaged components immediately.
- Ensure all tie-down points are securely fastened to the truck camper and the Torklift system before driving.
- Vehicle manufacturer recommendations state that all full-height slide-in camper bodies should be directly attached to the vehicle frame structure.
4. Setup and Installation
The Torklift True Frame Mounted Tie Down System is designed for a fast, no-drill installation for most applications, attaching directly to the truck's frame. This method prevents bed and bumper damage often associated with other tie-down methods.
4.1 Front Tie Down Installation (Model T2303)

Figure 4.1: A single Torklift T2303 front tie-down unit. This component is designed to mount to the front section of the truck's frame.
The front tie-downs are designed to integrate with the forward section of your truck's frame. While specific steps vary by vehicle, the general principle involves aligning the tie-down bracket with existing frame holes or designated mounting points.
- Identify the designated mounting locations on the front frame of your Toyota Tacoma.
- Position the T2303 tie-down bracket against the frame.
- Secure the bracket using the provided hardware, ensuring all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specified torque settings.
- Repeat for the opposite side.
Note: Some users have found the front bracket design and directions to be less clear. Refer to the manufacturer's official installation guide or contact Torklift support if you encounter difficulties.
4.2 Rear Tie Down Installation (Model T3307)

Figure 4.2: A single Torklift T3307 rear tie-down unit. This component is designed to mount to the rear section of the truck's frame.
The rear tie-downs attach to the rear section of your truck's frame. Similar to the front, these are designed for a secure, direct frame attachment.
- Locate the appropriate mounting points on the rear frame of your Toyota Tacoma.
- Position the T3307 tie-down bracket.
- Fasten the bracket using the provided hardware, ensuring proper torque.
- Repeat for the opposite side.
Important: It is required that no additional holes be drilled through the vehicle frame side rail horizontal flanges. If necessary, outrigger-type "L" brackets should be attached to the frame's vertical web for camper attachment.
5. Operating Instructions
Once the Torklift True Frame Mounted Tie Down System is installed, it provides secure attachment points for your truck camper.
- Position your truck camper onto the truck bed according to the camper manufacturer's instructions.
- Attach appropriate turnbuckles (not included) from your truck camper's tie-down points to the Torklift tie-down receivers.
- Ensure all four turnbuckles are tightened evenly to prevent movement and sway of the camper. The system is designed to prevent vehicle sway and camper movement in all directions.
- Periodically check the tension of the turnbuckles during travel, especially after the first few miles and then at regular intervals.
The hidden design of the tie-downs means they are discreet when not in use, maintaining the aesthetic and ground clearance of your truck.
6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and safe operation of your Torklift tie-down system, regular maintenance is recommended.
- Inspection: Before each use, visually inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion, cracks, or damage. Check for loose bolts or fasteners.
- Cleaning: Clean the tie-down components periodically, especially after exposure to road salt, dirt, or harsh weather conditions. Use mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Lubrication: Apply a light coat of rust-inhibiting lubricant to moving parts or exposed metal surfaces if corrosion is a concern, particularly in harsh environments.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, ensure the tie-downs are clean and dry.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during installation or operation, consider the following:
- Difficulty with Installation: Double-check your vehicle's compatibility with the specific Torklift models (T2303/T3307). Ensure you are following the instructions for the correct side (driver/passenger) and front/rear. Refer to the official Torklift installation guides for detailed diagrams.
- Loose Fit or Movement: Verify that all fasteners are tightened to the recommended torque specifications. Ensure the turnbuckles connecting the camper to the tie-downs are properly tensioned.
- Unusual Noises: Inspect all connection points for proper seating and tightness. Loose components can cause rattling or squeaking.
- Corrosion: If rust appears, clean the affected area and apply a rust-inhibiting primer and paint. Regular maintenance can prevent this.
