Setup and Installation

The Faultless GACX2D01AAP deadbolt is designed for simple installation without hard wiring and fits most standard doors.

1. Mechanical Installation

  1. Prepare the door according to the provided template (if applicable) for the latch and deadbolt bore holes.
  2. Install the latch into the door edge, ensuring the correct backset. Secure with wood screws.
  3. Install the strike plate and dust box into the door frame, aligning with the latch. Secure with wood screws.
  4. Attach the exterior gasket to the back of the exterior assembly.
  5. Insert the exterior assembly through the door, ensuring the spindle passes through the latch.
  6. Position the mounting plate on the interior side of the door, aligning it with the exterior assembly. Secure with machine screws.
  7. Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly.
  8. Mount the interior assembly onto the mounting plate, ensuring the tailpiece engages with the latch mechanism. Secure with machine screws.

2. Battery Installation

The deadbolt requires AA alkaline batteries (not included).

  1. Remove the battery cover from the interior assembly.
  2. Insert the required number of AA alkaline batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Replace the battery cover. The lock will emit a beep, indicating it is powered on.

3. Initial Programming

Before first use, you must set a Master Programming Code and user codes.

Operating Instructions

Unlocking the Deadbolt

  1. Enter a valid user code on the keypad.
  2. The lock will beep and the deadbolt will retract.
  3. Turn the thumb turn on the interior side or the key on the exterior side to fully retract the bolt if it doesn't retract automatically.

Locking the Deadbolt

  1. Manual Locking: From the exterior, turn the key to extend the deadbolt. From the interior, turn the thumb turn to extend the deadbolt.
  2. Automatic Locking: The deadbolt features an auto-lock function with an adjustable time delay (10-99 seconds). After unlocking, the deadbolt will automatically extend after the set delay.
