Operating Instructions

Charging Process

  1. After connecting the charger as described in the "Setup" section, turn the I/O switch to the "ON" position.
  2. The red LED power indicator light will illuminate.
  3. The green LED charging progress indicator lights will show the battery's charge status.
  4. The charger will automatically begin the 4-stage charging process: Initialization, Bulk Charge, and Float Mode.
  5. Once the battery is fully charged, all four green LEDs will be lit, and the charger will enter Float Mode to maintain the charge.

LED Indicators

  • Red LED: Power ON indicator.
  • Green LEDs (4): Charging progress indicator.
    • One green LED: Approximately 25% charged.
    • Two green LEDs: Approximately 50% charged.
    • Three green LEDs: Approximately 75% charged.
    • Four green LEDs: Approximately 100% charged (fully charged).
  • All LEDs flashing: Indicates reversed battery polarity or a shorted output. Disconnect immediately and check connections.
  • All green LEDs OFF (only red power LED on): No battery connected or charger is in the desulfating process. Allow time for this process if the battery is deeply discharged.

Maintenance

General Care

  • Keep the charger clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth if necessary.
  • Regularly inspect the cables and connectors for any damage or wear.
  • Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Ensure the cooling fan is free from obstructions to maintain proper heat dissipation.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Charger does not turn on (no red LED).No AC power; I/O switch is OFF.Check AC power connection; turn I/O switch ON.
All LEDs flashing.Reversed polarity; shorted output.Disconnect charger, check battery connections for correct polarity (+ to +, - to -). Ensure alligator clips are not touching each other.
Charger not charging (all green LEDs off).No battery connected; battery is deeply discharged (desulfating process).Ensure battery is properly connected. If battery is deeply discharged, the charger may enter a desulfating process (only red LED on). Allow time for this process.
Slow charging.Battery capacity is large; battery is old or damaged.Charging time varies with battery size and condition. Consider battery replacement if it consistently charges slowly or fails to hold a charge.
Charger gets hot.Normal operation; obstructed fan. Some heat is normal during charging. Ensure the cooling fan is not obstructed and has adequate ventilation.
