4. Installation Guide

Follow these steps to replace your engine's muffler. Tools required may include a wrench or socket set.

1. Preparation: Turn off the engine and allow it to cool completely. This is critical to prevent burns.
2. Locate Old Muffler: Identify the existing muffler on your engine. It is typically connected to the exhaust port.

5. Install New Muffler: Thread the new SureFit muffler onto the exhaust port by hand to ensure it starts correctly and is not cross-threaded.
6. Tighten Securely: Use a wrench to tighten the muffler firmly. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the threads on the engine or muffler.
7. Final Check: Ensure the muffler is securely attached and there are no loose connections.

5. Operating Considerations

After installing the new muffler, start the engine and listen for any unusual noises or exhaust leaks. A properly installed muffler will significantly reduce engine noise and direct exhaust gases safely.

• Allow the engine to run for a few minutes to reach operating temperature and check for any exhaust leaks around the muffler connection.
• If leaks are detected, turn off the engine, allow it to cool, and re-tighten the muffler.

7.2. Muffler Not Threading On:

• Possible Cause: Cross-threading or damaged threads on engine/muffler.
• Solution: Ensure the muffler is aligned perfectly straight before attempting to thread. Do not force it. If threads are damaged, professional repair may be necessary.
