1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your JioFi 3 4G Personal Hotspot Router. Please read this manual carefully before using the device to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

2. Package Contents

Ensure all items are present in your package:

  • JioFi 3 Device
  • Rechargeable Battery
  • USB Charging Cable
  • Power Adapter (Charger)
  • Quick Start Guide (not included in this digital manual)

3. Device Overview

The JioFi 3 is a portable 4G hotspot that allows multiple devices to connect to the internet. Familiarize yourself with the device's components:

Indicator Lights:

  • Battery Indicator: Shows the current battery level.
  • Signal Indicator: Displays the strength of the 4G network signal.
  • Wi-Fi Indicator: Indicates Wi-Fi activity and connection status.

Buttons:

  • Power Button: Used to turn the device on or off.
  • Reset Button: Located inside the device (often a pinhole button), used to restore factory settings.

4. Setup

4.1 Inserting the SIM Card and Battery

  1. Remove the back cover of the JioFi 3 device.
  2. Carefully insert the Nano SIM card into the designated SIM card slot. Ensure the gold contacts face downwards and the notched corner aligns correctly.
  3. Insert the rechargeable battery into its compartment, ensuring the contacts align.
  4. Replace the back cover.

4.2 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the JioFi 3 device.

  1. Connect the USB charging cable to the JioFi 3 device's charging port.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the provided power adapter.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  4. The battery indicator light will show charging status.

4.3 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the indicator lights illuminate.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until the indicator lights turn off.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Connecting Devices via Wi-Fi

The JioFi 3 allows up to 31 devices to connect simultaneously.

  1. Ensure your JioFi 3 device is powered on and has a stable 4G signal.
  2. On your Wi-Fi enabled device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, smart TV), open the Wi-Fi settings.
  3. Search for available Wi-Fi networks. The JioFi 3's network name (SSID) and password are typically found on a sticker inside the battery compartment or on the device packaging.
  4. Select the JioFi network and enter the password when prompted.
  5. Once connected, your device will have internet access.

5.2 Managing Settings with Jio App

For advanced settings and monitoring, download the official Jio app on your smartphone. The app allows you to:

  • View connected devices.
  • Change Wi-Fi SSID and password.
  • Monitor data usage.
  • Check battery status.

5.3 VoLTE Support

The JioFi 3 supports Voice over LTE (VoLTE), enabling high-quality voice calls through connected VoLTE-compatible smartphones using the Jio network.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Care

The JioFi 3 is equipped with a 2600mAh battery, providing approximately 7-8 hours of usage.

  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures.
  • Do not overcharge the battery for extended periods.
  • If the device will not be used for a long time, charge it to about 50% and store it in a cool, dry place.

6.2 Cleaning and Storage

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Store the device in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your JioFi 3, refer to the following common solutions:

Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi

  • Check if the JioFi 3 has reached its maximum device limit (31 devices).
Slow Internet Speed
  • Check network signal strength.
  • Reduce the number of connected devices.
  • Restart the JioFi 3.
Device Unresponsive
  • Perform a soft reset by turning the device off and on.
  • If unresponsive, use a pin to press the Reset Button to restore factory settings (this will erase custom Wi-Fi settings).
