2. Setup
2.1 Unpacking the Unit
Carefully remove the DVD-V9700 unit and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components are present: the main unit, remote control, and AV connector cords.
2.2 Connecting to Your Television
The DVD-V9700 offers multiple connection options for video and audio output. Choose the connection type that best suits your television and desired quality.

HDMI Connection (Recommended for best quality)
For optimal video and audio quality, connect an HDMI cable (not included) from the HDMI OUT port on the rear of the DVD-V9700 to an HDMI IN port on your television.
Component Video Connection
Connect component video cables (red, green, blue) from the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT ports on the rear of the DVD-V9700 to the corresponding COMPONENT VIDEO IN ports on your television. Also, connect the red and white audio cables from the LINE OUT AUDIO ports to your TV's audio input.
Composite Video Connection
Connect a composite video cable (yellow) from the VIDEO OUT port on the rear of the DVD-V9700 to the VIDEO IN port on your television. Connect the red and white audio cables from the LINE OUT AUDIO ports to your TV's audio input.

2.3 Power Connection
Plug the power cord into the AC inlet on the rear of the unit, then plug the other end into a standard wall outlet.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Powering On/Off
Press the POWER button on the front panel or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.
3.2 Playing a DVD/CD
- Press the DVD button on the front panel or remote to select DVD mode.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the DVD tray.
- Place a DVD or CD disc onto the tray with the label side facing up.
- Press the OPEN/CLOSE button again to close the tray. The disc will load automatically.
- Press the PLAY button to begin playback.
3.3 Playing a VHS Tape
- Press the VCR button on the front panel or remote to select VCR mode.

The DVD-V9700 is a digital VCR recorder without an internal tuner. This means it cannot record broadcast TV channels directly. To record, you must connect an external source (e.g., a cable box, satellite receiver, or another video player) to the unit's LINE IN 1 or LINE IN 2 (if available) ports on the rear panel.
- Connect your external video source to the LINE IN ports (yellow for video, red/white for audio) on the rear of the DVD-V9700.
- Insert a recordable VHS cassette tape into the VCR slot.
- Select the appropriate input source on your TV and the DVD-V9700 (e.g., AV1, L1).
- Begin playback on your external source.
- Press the REC button on the front panel or remote control to start recording.
- Press the STOP button to end recording.
