Setup and Installation

This lock is designed for right-handed doors. Please ensure your door's handing matches this requirement before proceeding. The backset is reversible between 2-3/8" (60mm) and 2-3/4" (70mm).

1. Prepare the Door: Ensure your door has standard bore holes. The lock fits doors with a thickness between 1.3" and 2.1". The rose diameter is 2.56".
2. Adjust Backset (if necessary): The latch bolt mechanism can be adjusted for either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" backset. Rotate the latch housing to extend or retract the bolt as needed.
3. Install Latch Bolt: Insert the latch bolt into the edge of the door, ensuring the bevel of the latch faces the door frame. Secure it with the provided screws.
4. Install Exterior Lever: Insert the exterior lever assembly through the bore hole from the outside of the door. Ensure the spindle and mounting posts align with the latch bolt mechanism.
5. Install Interior Lever: From the inside, align the interior lever assembly with the exterior assembly and the latch bolt. Secure the two assemblies together using the long mounting screws. Tighten firmly but do not overtighten.
6. Test Operation: Before installing the strike plate, test the lock's operation. Insert a key from the outside and turn to ensure the latch retracts. From the inside, use the thumb turn/button to lock and unlock.
7. Install Strike Plate: Align the strike plate with the latch bolt on the door frame. Mark and chisel out the area if necessary for a flush fit. Secure the strike plate and reinforcement box with the remaining screws.

Operating Instructions

• Unlocking from Exterior: Insert one of the provided keys into the key cylinder on the exterior lever. Turn the key to retract the latch bolt, then push down on the lever to open the door.
• Locking from Exterior: Turn the key in the key cylinder to extend the deadlatch mechanism. Remove the key. The exterior lever will now be rigid, preventing entry without a key.
• Unlocking from Interior: Push down on the lever to open the door. If locked, turn the thumb turn or press the button on the interior lever to unlock, then push down on the lever.
• Locking from Interior: Turn the thumb turn or press the button on the interior lever to engage the lock. The exterior lever will be rigid.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the lockset with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish.
• Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite lubricant to the key cylinder to ensure smooth operation. Do not use oil-based lubricants.
• Tightening Screws: Check all mounting screws periodically and tighten if necessary to maintain stability and proper function.
