Saving Settings

After making changes in the software, ensure you save your configuration to the macropad's 4mbit on-board memory. This allows the settings to persist even when connected to a different computer without the software installed.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Falcon-20 macropad, follow these maintenance guidelines:

Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the macropad. For deeper cleaning, gently remove keycaps and use compressed air to clear dust and debris from between the switches. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Cable Care

Handle the Micro USB cable with care. Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling to prevent damage to the cable or the macropad's USB ports.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Falcon-20 macropad, consider the following:

  • Device Not Recognized: Ensure the Micro USB cable is securely connected to both the macropad and your computer. Try a different USB port on your computer.
  • Programming Software Issues: If the programming software is not functioning correctly or settings are not saving, try reinstalling the software. Ensure you are using the latest version available from the manufacturer's website.
  • Key Input Errors: If keys are not responding or are registering incorrectly, verify the key assignments in the software. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset via the software if available, or contact support.
  • Backlight Not Working: Check the backlight settings in the software to ensure they are configured correctly and saved to the device.
  • Interference with Other Peripherals: In rare cases, the macropad might interfere with other USB devices. Try connecting the Falcon-20 to a different USB controller or port, or disconnect other peripherals temporarily to isolate the issue.
