Operating Instructions
1. Basic Operation with a DAW
The PMIDIKB10 is a MIDI controller and does not produce sound on its own. It sends MIDI data to your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software (e.g., Logic, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, GarageBand).
- Connect the PMIDIKB10 to your computer via USB as described in the Setup section.
- Open your preferred DAW software.
- In your DAW's preferences or settings, ensure the PMIDIKB10 is recognized as a MIDI input device.
- Create a new instrument track and select a virtual instrument within your DAW.
- Assign the PMIDIKB10 to control this virtual instrument. You can now play the keys to trigger sounds from the virtual instrument.
2. Key Functions
- Velocity-Sensitive Keys: The 25 mini-keyboard keys are velocity-sensitive, meaning the volume or intensity of the sound produced in your DAW will vary based on how hard or soft you press the keys. You can adjust the velocity curve settings via the MIDI Editor Software.
- Octave Buttons: Use the "Octave Up" and "Octave Down" buttons to shift the keyboard's pitch range up or down. This allows you to access a wider range of notes than the physical 25 keys provide. LED indicators will show the current octave setting.
- Pitch Buttons: The "Pitch Up" and "Pitch Down" buttons allow for fine-tuning of the pitch. The transpose range setting is -12 to +12 semitones.
3. Rotary Control Knob
The rotary control knob can be assigned to various parameters within your DAW or virtual instruments. This allows for real-time control over effects, filter cutoffs, volume, or other assignable functions.
4. MIDI Mapping and Programmable Memory Banks
The PMIDIKB10 supports MIDI mapping, allowing you to assign the rotary knob or keys to send specific Control Change (CC) messages to any parameter or function in your DAW. The controller also features programmable memory banks, enabling you to save and recall different configurations for various projects or instruments. Refer to the MIDI Editor Software manual for detailed instructions on programming and mapping.
- CC MIDI Channel Range: 1 - 16
- Key Behavior: Momentary/Toggle (configurable via software)
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Pyle PMIDIKB10, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surface of the controller. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish and internal components.
- Storage: Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
- Handling: Handle the controller with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts, which can damage the keys, buttons, or internal circuitry.
- Connectivity: Always disconnect the USB cable by gently pulling the connector, not the cable itself, to prevent damage to the port or cable.

If you encounter issues with your Pyle PMIDIKB10, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
