1. Introduction

The YOUTHINK Electricity Usage Monitor is a power meter plug designed to help you understand and manage your home's energy consumption. This device accurately monitors the power usage of electronic appliances, whether in standby or active mode, allowing you to identify high-consumption devices and optimize your electricity usage to save money. It features a digital LCD display with a blue backlight for clear readability and includes various measurement parameters.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not use the device in wet environments.
  • Ensure the total load of connected appliances does not exceed the maximum rated power of 1800W to prevent overload.

4. Setup

  1. Unboxing: Carefully remove the YOUTHINK Electricity Usage Monitor from its packaging. You will find the main unit and two small reset tools.
  2. Initial Power-Up: Plug the monitor directly into a standard 120V AC wall outlet. The LCD screen should illuminate.
  3. Connecting an Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to monitor into the socket on the front of the YOUTHINK monitor.

5. Operating Instructions

The monitor features four buttons: FUNCTION, COST, UP, and DOWN.

  • FUNCTION Button: Press this button to cycle through the 7 different display modes (see Section 6).
  • COST Button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter the electricity price setting mode. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the price per kWh. Press FUNCTION to save the setting.
  • UP/DOWN Buttons: Used to adjust values when in setting modes (e.g., setting electricity price).

6. Display Modes

The YOUTHINK Electricity Usage Monitor offers 7 distinct display modes to provide comprehensive data on your energy consumption. Press the FUNCTION button to switch between these modes:

  1. Time/Watt/Cost Display: Shows cumulative consumption time, current power in Watts, and cumulative cost.
  2. Cumulative Electricity Consumption (kWh): Displays total kWh consumed and cumulative consumption time (in days if over 24 hours).
  3. Real-time Voltage/Frequency Display: Shows the current voltage (V) and frequency (Hz) of the power supply.
  4. Real-time Current/Power Factor Display: Displays the current amperage (A) and power factor.
  5. Minimum Power Display: Shows the lowest recorded power (W) during the monitoring period.
  6. Maximum Power Display: Shows the highest recorded power (W) during the monitoring period.
  7. Electricity Price Display: Shows the set electricity price per kWh.

7. Overload Protection

The monitor is equipped with an overload warning feature. If the total power consumption of the connected appliance(s) exceeds 1650W, the LCD screen will display "OVERLOAD" and an audible alarm will sound to alert the user. This feature helps prevent damage to the device and connected appliances, ensuring safe electricity usage.
