Introduction

The K'NEX Imagine Power & Play Motorized Building Set allows you to bring your creations to life with a motor and over 525 classic scale K'NEX rods and connectors. This set provides the components to build 50 different models, with half of them featuring motorized movement. The models vary in complexity, catering to builders of all skill levels. This manual provides essential information for assembly, operation, and care of your K'NEX set.

Important Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety warnings before using this product.

• CHOKING HAZARD: Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
• Adult supervision is recommended, especially during initial assembly and motorized operation.
• Keep batteries out of reach of small children.
• Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
• Ensure the motor is switched off when not in use or when changing batteries.

Setup and Initial Assembly

1. Battery Installation for Motor

1. Locate the battery compartment on the motor unit.
2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver (not included), unscrew the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 2 "AA" batteries (not included) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.
5. Test the motor by sliding the ON/OFF switch. The motor should operate smoothly.

2. Getting Started with Building

• Refer to the included Instruction Booklet for step-by-step, color-coded building guides.
• Begin with simpler models to familiarize yourself with the K'NEX system of rods and connectors.
• Ensure pieces "click" securely into place for stable constructions.

Operating Your K'NEX Motorized Models

Once a motorized model is built according to the instructions, follow these steps to operate it:

1. Ensure the motor is securely attached to the K'NEX structure as indicated in the model's instructions.
2. Verify that all gears and moving parts are aligned and can rotate freely without obstruction.
3. Slide the ON/OFF switch on the motor to the "ON" position. The motor should begin to turn, activating the moving parts of your model.
4. To stop the movement, slide the ON/OFF switch to the "OFF" position.

The set allows for the creation of various motorized models, such as a rescue chopper, carousel, and more. Experiment with different designs to see how the motor can bring them to life.

Care and Maintenance

• Cleaning: K'NEX pieces can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Do not submerge the motor unit in water.
• Storage: When not in use, store all K'NEX pieces and the motor in the reusable storage container provided to prevent loss and damage.
• Battery Care: Remove batteries from the motor if the set will not be used for an extended period to prevent battery leakage.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect all pieces for wear or damage. Discard any broken or cracked pieces to ensure safe play.
