Control Descriptions:

  • Display Screen: Shows recording status, time, battery level, and menu options.
  • REC/PAUSE Button (Red Dot): Starts and pauses recording.
  • STOP Button: Stops recording or playback.
  • Play/Enter Button (Triangle): Starts playback, confirms selections.
  • Rewind/Fast Forward Buttons: Navigates through tracks or fast forwards/rewinds during playback.
  • DPC (Digital Pitch Control) Button: Adjusts playback speed without changing pitch.
  • A-B Button: Repeats a specific section of a recording.
  • BACK Button: Returns to the previous screen or cancels an operation.
  • T-MARK Button: Adds a track mark to a recording.
  • OPTION Button: Accesses recording and playback options.
  • HOME Button: Returns to the main menu.
  • HOLD/POWER Switch: Slides to turn the device on/off or to lock buttons.
  • VOL +/- Buttons: Adjusts playback volume.
  • Built-in USB Connector: Slides out for direct connection to a computer.
  • microSD Card Slot: For expanding memory.
  • MIC (Microphone) Jack: For connecting an external microphone.
  • HEADPHONES Jack: For connecting headphones.

Setup

1. Installing Batteries:

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the recorder.
  2. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries (supplied) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Inserting a microSD Card (Optional):

  1. Locate the microSD card slot on the side of the recorder.
  2. Insert a microSD card (not supplied) into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is inserted in the correct orientation.
  3. To remove, push the card in until it clicks, then release.

3. Initial Setup:

Upon first power-on or after battery replacement, you may be prompted to set the date and time. Follow the on-screen instructions using the control buttons.

Operating

Power On/Off:

Slide the HOLD/POWER switch to the "POWER" position to turn on the recorder. Slide it to "OFF" to turn off. Slide to "HOLD" to lock buttons and prevent accidental operation.

Recording:

  1. Turn on the recorder.
  2. Press the REC/PAUSE button to start recording. The REC indicator will light up.
  3. To pause recording, press REC/PAUSE again. Press again to resume.
  4. To stop recording, press the STOP button. The recording will be saved automatically.

Tip: For optimal recording quality, ensure the microphone is not obstructed and the recorder is placed in a suitable location relative to the sound source. Adjust microphone sensitivity via the OPTION menu if needed.

Playback:

  1. From the main menu, navigate to the desired recording.
  2. Press the Play/Enter button to start playback.
  3. Use the Rewind/Fast Forward buttons to skip tracks or navigate within a track.
  4. Press the STOP button to stop playback.
  5. Adjust volume using the VOL +/- buttons on the side.

Connecting to a Computer:

  1. Ensure the recorder is turned off.
  2. Slide out the built-in USB connector from the bottom of the recorder.
  3. Connect the USB connector directly to a USB port on your computer.
  4. The recorder will appear as a removable disk drive on your computer.
  5. You can now transfer recorded files to your computer or transfer audio files from your computer to the recorder.
  6. Always safely eject the device from your computer before disconnecting.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use alcohol, benzene, thinner, or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: If not using the unit for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion. Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Battery Life: Battery life may vary depending on usage conditions and battery type.

Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
Device does not power on.Check battery polarity. Replace batteries if depleted. Ensure the HOLD/POWER switch is not in the "HOLD" position.
Cannot record.Check available memory (internal or microSD). Ensure the device is not in playback mode.
No sound during playback.Increase volume. Check headphone connection. Ensure the speaker is not covered.
Computer does not recognize the device.Ensure the USB connector is fully inserted. Try a different USB port. Restart the computer.
