Setup Guide

1. Inserting the Battery

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the PSP console.
  2. Slide the battery cover open.
  3. Insert a rechargeable battery into the compartment, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

2. Initial Charging

  1. Connect the AC adapter to the charging port on the PSP console.
  2. Plug the AC adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
  3. Allow the PSP to charge fully before first use. The power indicator light will change to indicate a full charge.

3. Powering On

After charging, slide the POWER switch located on the right side of the console upwards and hold it for a few seconds until the screen illuminates.

Playing Games (UMD Discs)

  1. Open the UMD (Universal Media Disc) drive cover located on the back of the PSP.
  2. Insert a UMD game disc with the label facing away from the console.
  3. Close the UMD drive cover until it clicks into place.
  4. Navigate to the Game icon on the XMB menu and select the UMD game to start playing.

Connecting to Wi-Fi

  1. From the XMB menu, navigate to Settings > Network Settings.
  2. Select Infrastructure Mode.
  3. Choose New Connection and follow the on-screen prompts to scan for available Wi-Fi networks.
  4. Select your desired network and enter the password if required.
  5. Note: The PSP 3000 supports WEP and WPA-PSK (TKIP/AES) security protocols. Modern WPA2/WPA3 networks may require specific router settings or may not be compatible.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your PSP

  • Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and exterior of the console.
  • For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Ensure no liquid enters the ports or openings.

Battery Care

  • To maximize battery life, avoid extreme temperatures.
  • If storing the PSP for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and remove it from the console.
  • Use only genuine Sony PSP batteries and chargers.

Storage

Store your PSP in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive dust. Consider using a protective case when transporting the device.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions

Buttons are unresponsive.Check if the HOLD switch is engaged. Disengage it if necessary. Restart the console.
