4. Setup: Setting Your Combination

Your Hiplok FX comes with a resettable 3-digit combination. Follow these steps to set your personal code:

  1. The default combination is typically 0-0-0. Align the dials to this code.
  2. Locate the small reset button or lever on the side or bottom of the lock. Use a pen or a pointed object to press and hold this button/lever.
  3. While holding the reset button/lever, set your desired 3-digit combination by rotating the dials. Choose a memorable number.
  4. Release the reset button/lever. Your new combination is now set.
  5. Important: Write down your combination and store it in a safe place. Do not store it with the lock.

6. Maintenance

  • Regularly wipe down the lock body and cable with a damp cloth to remove dirt and grime.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish.
  • If the cable retraction mechanism becomes stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the cable entry point.
  • Store the lock in a dry place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Cable Not Retracting Fully

  • Check for any kinks or twists in the cable. Straighten the cable before attempting to retract.
  • Ensure the cable is clean and free of debris. Clean if necessary.
  • Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the cable entry point and gently work the cable in and out to distribute the lubricant.

7.2. Forgetting Your Combination

If you forget your combination, there is no master key or override. You will need to try all 1000 possible combinations (000-999) until you find the correct one. This process can be time-consuming but is the only way to unlock the device if the combination is lost.

7.3. Dials Are Stiff

  • Clean the dials and the area around them to remove any dirt or grit.
  • Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the dial mechanism.
