5.1 Connecting the Speakers to the Wireless Receiver Module
- Identify the left and right speakers.
- Connect the speaker cables to the corresponding terminals on the back of each rear speaker and the wireless receiver module. Ensure correct polarity (red to red, black to black).
- Position the rear speakers behind your listening area, typically to the left and right.
5.2 Wall Mounting (Optional)
The speakers are wall-mountable. Use appropriate screws and wall anchors (not included) suitable for your wall type. Ensure the mounting location can support the weight of the speakers securely.
5.3 Pairing with a Compatible Samsung Soundbar
The SWA-8500S system must be paired with a compatible Samsung Soundbar. Refer to your specific Soundbar's instruction manual for detailed pairing instructions, as the process may vary slightly between models.
General Pairing Steps:
- Plug in the power cord to the wireless receiver module and connect it to an electrical outlet. The LINK LED indicator on the module will blink blue.
- Turn off your Samsung Soundbar.
- On your Soundbar's remote control, press and hold the Mute button (or VOL button on some older models) for approximately 5-6 seconds until the "ID SET" message appears on the Soundbar's display.
- The LINK LED on the wireless receiver module should turn solid blue, indicating a successful connection.
- If the LINK LED continues to blink, repeat the pairing process.
Compatible Soundbar Models: HW-Q70R, HW-Q60R, HW-R650, HW-R550, HW-R450, HW-N400, HW-N450, HW-N550, HW-N650, HW-M360, HW-M450, HW-M4500, HW-M550, HW-Q60T, HW-T650, HW-S60T, HW-T550, HW-T450, T60M.
6. Operation
Once paired, the SWA-8500S rear speakers operate in conjunction with your Samsung Soundbar. All sound adjustments, including volume and surround sound modes, are controlled via the Soundbar's remote control.
- Sound Mode: Ensure your Soundbar is set to a surround sound mode (e.g., 'Surround Sound' or 'DTS Virtual:X') to activate the rear speakers.
- Rear Level Adjustment: Use your Soundbar's remote to access sound settings and adjust the 'REAR LEVEL' to your preferred volume. This setting allows you to balance the rear speaker output with the front channels.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your SWA-8500S system, refer to the following common solutions:
- No Sound from Rear Speakers:
- Check if the wireless receiver module's LINK LED is solid blue. If blinking, re-pair the system (refer to Section 5.3).
- Ensure speaker cables are securely connected to both the speakers and the wireless receiver module, checking for correct polarity.
- Verify that your Soundbar's sound mode is set to a surround sound option.
- Check the 'REAR LEVEL' setting on your Soundbar; it might be set too low.
- Intermittent Sound or Distortion:
- Ensure the wireless receiver module is not obstructed and is within close proximity to the Soundbar.
- Check for potential interference from other wireless devices (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, cordless phones). Try moving the module or Soundbar slightly.
- Pairing Failure:
- Confirm your Soundbar model is listed as compatible (refer to Section 5.3).
- Ensure you are pressing the correct button on your Soundbar's remote for ID SET (often Mute, not VOL).
- Unplug and replug the wireless receiver module, then retry the pairing process.
