Operating Instructions
1. Brewing with Fresh Coffee Beans:
- Fill Water Tank: Open the lid of the water tank and fill with fresh, cold water up to the desired number of cups (max 10 cups). The transparent tank has clear markings.
- Add Coffee Beans: Open the lid of the bean hopper and fill with whole coffee beans. Do not overfill.
- Insert Filter: Place a new 1x4 paper filter into the filter holder. Ensure it is properly seated to prevent coffee grounds from overflowing.
- Place Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate.
- Adjust Grind Level and Intensity:
- Use the grind level selector (usually a dial or button near the grinder) to choose your desired fineness. Finer grind for stronger coffee, coarser for milder.
- Use the intensity button (often labeled with coffee bean icons) on the control panel to select your preferred coffee strength.
- Start Brewing: Press the ON/OFF button. The machine will automatically grind the beans, brew the coffee, and keep it warm.
2. Brewing with Pre-Ground Coffee:
- Follow steps 1, 3, and 4 from "Brewing with Fresh Coffee Beans".
- Add Ground Coffee: Instead of beans, add the desired amount of pre-ground coffee directly into the paper filter.
- Disable Grinder: Ensure the grinder function is disabled (refer to your machine's specific button for this, often a dedicated button or a setting within the intensity options).
- Start Brewing: Press the ON/OFF button.
3. Using the Timer Function:
- Prepare the machine as described in steps 1-4 for either fresh beans or pre-ground coffee.
- Set Current Time: If not already set, use the 'H' and 'M' buttons on the control panel to set the current time.
- Set Timer: Press the TIMER button. The display will show a flashing clock icon. Use the 'H' and 'M' buttons to set the desired brewing start time.
- Activate Timer: Press the TIMER button again to confirm the setting. The timer icon will remain lit, indicating the timer is active. The machine will start brewing automatically at the set time.
4. Keep Warm Function:
The machine automatically keeps the coffee warm after brewing. The warming time can be programmed for 30, 60, or 90 minutes. Refer to your machine's specific settings menu or buttons to adjust this duration.
Maintenance & Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity of your coffee machine and the quality of your coffee.
Daily Cleaning:
- Always unplug the machine and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Wash the glass carafe, filter holder, and bean hopper lid with warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Empty and clean the bean hopper regularly to prevent oil buildup.
Descaling:
Mineral deposits from water can affect performance and coffee taste. The machine has a descaling program and an indicator. The frequency of descaling depends on water hardness and usage.
- Water Hardness Setting: Before first use, it is recommended to set the water hardness level on your machine according to your local water supply. Refer to the manual for specific instructions on how to adjust this setting.
- Descaling Process:
- When the descaling indicator (often "CALC" on the display) lights up, it's time to descale.
- Use a suitable descaling agent recommended for coffee machines. Follow the descaling agent's instructions for mixing with water.
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Initiate the descaling program (usually by pressing and holding the "CALC" button or following a menu prompt).
- After the descaling cycle, run 2-3 cycles with fresh water to rinse the machine thoroughly.
