3. Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the energy meter from its packaging.
- Initial Power-Up: Plug the BN-LINK energy meter directly into a standard 125VAC, 60Hz wall socket. The LCD display should illuminate.
- Connect Appliance: Plug the appliance you wish to monitor into the outlet on the front of the energy meter.
- Battery Backup: The meter has a built-in NiMH battery for data retention. It will charge automatically when plugged in.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Setting Unit Price (Cost)
- Press the COST button to enter the cost setting mode.
- Use the VOLT/+ and AMP/- buttons to adjust the digit.
- Press SET to move to the next digit.
- Once the desired unit price is set, press SET again to confirm and exit the setting mode.

4.2 Display Modes
The meter features 9 distinct display modes, accessible by pressing the corresponding buttons:
- Cost: Displays the total accumulated electricity cost.
- Watt/VA: Shows real power (Watts) and apparent power (VA).
- KWH/Hour: Displays total kilowatt-hours consumed and elapsed time.
- Hz/PF: Shows power frequency (Hz) and power factor (PF).
- Volt/+: Displays the current voltage.
- Amp/-: Displays the current amperage.

4.3 Resetting Data
To clear all cumulative data (cost, KWh, elapsed time), press the Reset button located on the right side of the device using a small pointed object (e.g., a paperclip).
5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
- Storage: Store the meter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
- Battery: The internal battery is for data retention and does not require user replacement.
6. Troubleshooting
- Display Not Working: Ensure the meter is securely plugged into a live outlet. If the issue persists, try plugging it into a different outlet.
- Incorrect Readings: Verify that the appliance is properly connected to the meter. Ensure the unit price is set correctly if cost calculation is inaccurate.
- Data Loss: While the meter has a battery backup, prolonged storage without power or extreme conditions might affect data retention. Use the reset button to clear any corrupted data.
- Overload Indication: If the connected appliance exceeds the meter's maximum capacity (15A, 1875W), an overload warning may appear. Disconnect the appliance immediately to prevent damage.
