Introduction
The Bio Green PAL 2.0/US Palma Basic Electric Fan Heater is designed to provide efficient and reliable heating and air circulation for greenhouses, garden houses, garages, patios, and tents. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your heater.
Key features include:
- Two separately adjustable heating elements: 2560 BTU or 5120 BTU power, suitable for rooms up to 120 ft² with an average height of 6.6 feet.
- Steplessly adjustable thermostat: Automatically starts and stops the heater when the desired temperature (32°F to 185°F) is reached.
- Air circulation mode: Transforms the heater into a fan, preventing heat buildup and promoting air movement around plants.
- Quick and even air circulation: Circulates up to 4317 ft³ of air per hour, optimizing energy use.
- Splash-proof according to IPX4: Safe for use in damp environments, resistant to rain and irrigation water.
Setup
Before operating your Bio Green Palma heater, ensure proper placement and connection.
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the heater and thermostat for any damage.
- Placement: Position the heater on a stable, level surface. The unit is floor-mounted and designed for both indoor and outdoor use in suitable environments like greenhouses. Ensure adequate clearance around the heater for proper airflow.
- Thermostat Connection: If using the digital thermostat model, plug the heater into the thermostat unit, and then plug the thermostat unit into a standard 120V electrical outlet. The thermostat probe should be positioned to accurately measure the ambient temperature in the desired area.
- Power Connection: Ensure the heater is connected to a grounded 120V electrical outlet. Avoid using extension cords if possible; if necessary, use a heavy-duty, outdoor-rated extension cord appropriate for the heater's wattage.

Operating Instructions
The Palma heater offers versatile operation modes to suit your needs.
- Power Settings: The heater features two power settings: 2560 BTU (1kW) for smaller areas or moderate heating, and 5120 BTU (2kW) for larger areas or colder conditions. Select the appropriate setting using the rotary switch on the unit.
- Thermostat Control: Use the steplessly adjustable thermostat dial on the heater or the digital thermostat (if applicable) to set your desired temperature. The heater will automatically activate when the temperature drops below the set point and deactivate once it reaches it.
- Fan Mode: To use the heater solely as a fan for air circulation without heating, select the fan-only setting. This is ideal for preventing heat buildup and promoting pollination during warmer months.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your heater.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the heater with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Air Vents: Keep the air intake and output vents clear of any obstructions (dust, debris, plant matter) to maintain efficient airflow and prevent overheating.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the heater in a dry, protected area.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Palma heater, try the following:
- Heater not turning on: Check if the unit is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet. Verify that the thermostat is set to a temperature below the current ambient temperature. Ensure the power switch is in the 'on' position.
- Insufficient heating: Confirm that the correct power setting (1kW or 2kW) is selected for your space. Check for any obstructions around the air vents. Ensure the greenhouse is adequately insulated.
- Fan not working: Verify that the fan mode is selected. Check for any obstructions in the fan blades.
- Overheating: The heater has overheat protection. If it shuts off unexpectedly, unplug it, allow it to cool down, and check for any blocked air vents before restarting.
