2. Grass Collection Bag Assembly
Assemble the grass collection bag according to the instructions in the separate assembly guide (if provided). Once assembled, lift the rear discharge flap and hook the grass bag onto the mower chassis.
3. Battery Charging
Insert the 40V 2Ah batteries into the charger. Connect the charger to a standard power outlet. The indicator lights on the charger will show the charging status. A full charge typically takes 30 minutes per battery. Ensure batteries are fully charged before first use.

4. Battery Insertion and Safety Key
Open the battery compartment cover on the mower. Insert a fully charged battery into the compartment until it clicks into place. Insert the safety key into its slot. The mower will not operate without the safety key inserted.
Operation
1. Adjusting Cutting Height
The cutting height can be adjusted using the single lever located on the side of the mower. There are 5 positions, allowing you to set the cutting height between 25 mm and 80 mm. Select the appropriate height for your lawn conditions.

2. Starting the Mower
Ensure the battery is inserted and the safety key is in place. Press and hold the safety button, then pull the bail switch towards the handle. The mower will start. Release the safety button once the motor is running.

3. Mowing Techniques
For best results, mow in straight, overlapping lines. Avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time. For thick or tall grass, consider raising the cutting height for the first pass and then lowering it for a second pass.
4. 2-in-1 Function (Mulching/Bagging)
To collect grass, ensure the grass collection bag is properly attached. To mulch, remove the grass collection bag and insert the mulching plug into the rear discharge opening. The mower will then finely cut and redistribute the grass clippings back onto the lawn.

5. Stopping the Mower
Release the bail switch to stop the mower. Always remove the safety key and battery when leaving the mower unattended or before performing any adjustments or maintenance.
6. Product Video
Video 1: This video demonstrates the Greenworks 40V battery system and various compatible tools, including the lawn mower in operation from 0:41 to 0:53. It shows the mower being pushed across a lawn, highlighting its ease of use and cutting performance.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
After each use, remove the battery and safety key. Clean the underside of the mower deck and the grass collection bag to prevent grass buildup. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use high-pressure water or immerse the mower in water.
2. Blade Inspection and Sharpening
Regularly inspect the 40mm steel blade for sharpness and damage. A dull or damaged blade can affect cutting performance and battery life. If necessary, have the blade sharpened or replaced by a qualified service technician. Always wear protective gloves when handling the blade.
3. Battery Care
Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. For long-term storage, ensure batteries are partially charged (around 50%) to prolong their lifespan. Greenworks lithium-ion batteries are designed without memory effect and are free of heavy metals.
4. Storage
For compact storage, the mower handles can be folded down. Ensure the mower is clean and dry before storing. Store in a secure, dry location out of reach of children.
