3. Package Contents

Verify that all items are present in the package:

4. Setup Guide

  1. Unpack the Scale: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Power Source Connection:
    • AC Power: Locate the side-mounted power jack on the scale unit. Plug the provided AC power supply into the jack, then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet. The side-mounted design helps prevent damage to the power supply connection.
    • Battery Power: If using batteries, ensure two AA batteries are correctly installed in the battery compartment, observing polarity (+/-) markings. The power jack plug helps eliminate internal corrosion when using batteries.
  3. Place ClearShield™: Position the ClearShield™ protective cover over the main scale unit, aligning it properly with the scale's base.
  4. Install Stainless Steel Platform: Place the removable stainless steel platform securely on top of the ClearShield™. Ensure it sits flat and stable.
  5. Position the Scale: Place the assembled scale on a firm, level, and stable surface, free from vibrations or drafts, to ensure accurate measurements.

5. Operation

5.1. Button Functions

The Edlund BRV-320 features intuitive buttons for easy operation:

5.2. Weighing Procedure

  1. Power On: Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the scale. The display will show '0.0' or '0' when ready.
  2. Select Unit (Mode): Press the MODE/CAL button repeatedly to cycle through the available weighing units: 20lb x 0.1oz, 320oz x 0.1oz, 320oz x 1/8oz, and 10000g x 2g. Select your desired unit.
  3. Tare (if using a container): If you are using a container, place the empty container on the stainless steel platform. Wait for the reading to stabilize, then press the TARE button. The display will reset to '0.0', effectively subtracting the container's weight.

  5. Read Measurement: The weight will be displayed on the large LCD screen. Wait for the reading to stabilize before noting the measurement.

5.3. Field Recalibration

The Edlund BRV-320 scale is field recalibratable, allowing you to maintain accuracy over time. Specific calibration instructions are typically detailed in a separate technical service manual or can be obtained by contacting Edlund customer support. Generally, calibration involves:

  1. Ensuring the scale is on a stable, level surface.
  2. Having a known calibration weight (not included) that matches the scale's capacity or a specific calibration point.
  3. Entering calibration mode by holding the MODE/CAL button for a specified duration.
  4. Following the on-screen prompts to apply and remove the calibration weight.

For precise steps, please refer to the official Edlund calibration guide or contact their technical support.
