2. Safety Information
WARNING: Generators produce carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas. Operating a generator indoors can kill you in minutes. ALWAYS operate generators OUTDOORS, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
Observe all safety decals on the generator. Refer to the image below for examples of safety warnings on the unit.

- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Never operate the generator inside any building, garage, shed, or other enclosed space. Ensure adequate ventilation when operating outdoors.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure the generator is properly grounded. Do not touch live electrical parts.
- Fire Hazard: Fuel is highly flammable. Do not refuel while the engine is running or hot. Store fuel in an approved container in a well-ventilated area. Keep flammable materials away from the generator.
- Hot Surfaces: The muffler and engine components become very hot during operation and remain hot for a period after shutdown. Avoid contact.
- Moving Parts: Keep hands, feet, and clothing away from moving parts.

4. Setup
Before first use, perform the following setup steps:
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
- Remove the generator and all accessories from the carton.
- Inspect for any shipping damage. If damaged, contact Firman customer service.
- Ensure all included accessories are present: oil, funnel, owner's manual, spark plug wrench, and two wrenches.

4.2 Adding Engine Oil
The engine is shipped without oil. You must add the correct amount of engine oil before starting.
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean.
- Using the provided funnel, slowly pour the recommended oil (SAE 10W-30) into the oil fill opening until it reaches the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
- Reinstall the dipstick securely.
4.3 Adding Fuel
WARNING: Gasoline is extremely flammable and its vapors can explode. Handle fuel with extreme care.
- Ensure the generator is turned OFF and cool.
- Remove the fuel cap.
- Slowly add fresh, unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane) to the fuel tank. Do not fill above the red indicator ring inside the tank.
- Securely replace the fuel cap.
4.4 Grounding the Generator
For safety, the generator must be properly grounded. Connect a ground wire from the generator's ground terminal to an appropriate grounding source (e.g., a ground rod).
5. Operating
5.1 Starting the Engine (Recoil Start)
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and all electrical loads are disconnected.
- Turn the engine switch to the 'ON' position.
- Move the choke lever to the 'CHOKE' position (cold engine start).
- Firmly grasp the recoil start handle and pull slowly until resistance is felt, then pull quickly and smoothly to start the engine.
- Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position.
5.2 Stopping the Engine
- Disconnect all electrical loads from the generator.
- Allow the engine to run for a few minutes without load to cool down.
- Turn the engine switch to the 'OFF' position.
5.3 Connecting Electrical Loads
Once the generator is running stably, you can connect electrical devices. Ensure the total wattage of connected devices does not exceed the generator's running wattage (1200W) and consider the starting wattage (1500W) for motor-driven appliances.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of your generator.
6.1 Engine Oil Change
Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use SAE 10W-30 oil.
6.2 Air Filter Cleaning
Inspect the air filter every 50 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions. Clean or replace as necessary.
6.3 Spark Plug Inspection
Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours. Clean or replace if fouled or worn. Ensure proper gap.
6.4 Fuel System Maintenance
If storing the generator for more than 30 days, drain the fuel tank and carburetor, or use a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation.
6.5 Storage
For long-term storage, ensure the fuel system is prepared, the oil is changed, and the generator is stored in a clean, dry place.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Engine will not start | No fuel; Low oil level; Engine switch OFF; Choke not set; Fouled spark plug | Add fuel; Add oil; Turn engine switch ON; Adjust choke; Clean/replace spark plug |
| No power output | Overload; Circuit breaker tripped; Loose connections | Reduce load; Reset circuit breaker; Check connections |
| Engine runs rough | Stale fuel; Dirty air filter; Incorrect spark plug gap | Drain and refill with fresh fuel; Clean/replace air filter; Adjust spark plug gap |
