Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Bittel Polaris 41 Landline Phone:

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the jack on the side of the phone unit and the other end into the jack on the handset.
  2. Connect to Telephone Line: Plug one end of the line cord into the LINE jack on the back or side of the phone unit. Plug the other end of the line cord into your wall telephone jack.
  3. Placement: Place the phone unit in a suitable location, ensuring the cords are not tangled or obstructing pathways.

Operating Instructions

Making a Call

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Listen for a dial tone.
  3. Dial the desired telephone number using the keypad. The phone supports standard 12-group DTMF dialing.
  4. Wait for the call to connect.
  5. To end the call, replace the handset in the cradle.

Receiving a Call

  1. When the phone rings, lift the handset to answer the call.
  2. To end the call, replace the handset in the cradle.

Using the Flash Function

The Flash button (if present) allows you to switch between calls or access certain PBX features. The flash time is configurable (98ms, 300ms, 600ms), with 600ms as the standard setting.

  • During a call, press the Flash button briefly to activate the flash function. Consult your PBX system's manual for specific feature codes.

Message Waiting Light (MWL)

The phone is equipped with a Message Waiting Light. This light illuminates when there is a new message waiting for you on your voicemail system (requires compatible PBX system). The standard voltage for the MWL is 90-150V DC.

  • When the MWL is illuminated, dial your voicemail access number to retrieve messages.
  • The light will turn off automatically once all new messages have been retrieved.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the phone's exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or strong chemicals, as these may damage the finish.
  • Ensure no liquid enters the phone's openings.

Storage

  • If storing the phone for an extended period, disconnect it from the telephone line.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
