Front Panel

  • 1/4" Input Jack: For connecting standard audio headphones or earpieces.
  • 3.5mm Input Jack: For connecting smaller audio headphones or earpieces.
  • Rotary Volume Control: Adjusts the audio output level to the connected headphones. This control can be turned down but not completely off. Internal jumpers allow for setting a minimum preferred level.

Rear Panel

  • Green LED (Power Indicator): Illuminates when the unit is properly connected to the IFB system and receiving the required 18-30 VDC power.
  • Red LED (Audio Traffic Indicator): Flashes to indicate that audio signals are being received by the unit.
  • Single/Two Channel Switch: A recessed switch allowing the technician to select between single-channel and two-channel operation modes.

5. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your TR1 receiver:

  1. Connect to IFB System: Connect the TR1 receiver to your IFB circuit using the appropriate XLR cable (not included). Ensure a secure connection. The unit requires 18-30 VDC from the system's power supply.
  2. Verify Power: Once connected, the Green LED on the rear panel should illuminate, indicating that the unit is receiving power.
  3. Connect Headphones: Plug your headphones or earpiece into either the 1/4" or 3.5mm input jack on the front panel.
  4. Select Channel Mode: Use a small tool (e.g., a pen tip) to adjust the recessed Single/Two Channel switch on the rear panel to your desired operating mode. Consult your IFB system's documentation for the appropriate setting.
  5. Initial Volume Adjustment: Turn the rotary volume control knob on the front panel to its lowest audible setting before placing headphones on.

6. Operating Instructions

Operating the TR1 receiver is straightforward:

  1. Monitor Audio: With headphones connected and the unit powered, you should begin to hear audio from the IFB circuit.
  2. Adjust Volume: Slowly turn the rotary volume control clockwise to increase the audio level to a comfortable listening volume. Avoid excessively high volumes to prevent hearing damage.
  3. Observe Audio Traffic: The Red LED on the rear panel will flash when audio signals are actively being received, providing a visual confirmation of signal presence.
  4. Channel Selection: If you need to change between single and two-channel operation during use, carefully adjust the recessed switch on the rear panel. This typically requires a technician's intervention.

Note: The volume control cannot be turned completely off. Internal jumpers allow a technician to set the lowest preferred level, ensuring that some audio is always present for critical monitoring.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your TR1 receiver, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
