1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Information

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using this heater.
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.

  • To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.
  • Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).

4. Setup and Assembly

The Duraflame Electric Fireplace Stove Heater requires minimal assembly, primarily attaching the legs to the main unit.

  2. Locate the four legs and the necessary screws (typically pre-attached or in a separate bag).
  3. Align each leg with the corresponding mounting points on the bottom of the heater unit.
  4. Securely fasten each leg using the provided screws. Do not overtighten.
  5. Once all legs are attached, carefully turn the unit upright and place it on a firm, level surface. Ensure adequate clearance from walls and combustible materials as specified in the safety guidelines.

5. Operating Instructions

Your electric fireplace stove can be operated using the control panel located behind the operable door on the unit or with the included remote control.

5.1. Control Panel

Open the front door of the unit to access the control buttons.

  • Power Button: Turns the unit on or off.
  • Flame Effect Button: Adjusts the brightness and speed settings of the 3D flame effect. There are five adjustable settings. The flame effect can be operated independently of the heat.
  • Thermostat/Temperature Control: Allows you to set the desired room temperature. The unit will cycle on and off to maintain this temperature.
  • Timer Button: Activates the automatic timed shut-off feature.

5.2. Remote Control

The remote control provides convenient operation from a distance. Ensure the included AAA batteries are installed correctly.

  • Power Button (Red): Turns the unit on or off.
  • Flame Button: Cycles through flame brightness and speed settings.
  • Temperature Button: Adjusts the thermostat setting.
  • Timer Button: Activates or adjusts the automatic timed shut-off.

5.3. Initial Operation

  1. Plug the unit into a grounded 120V AC outlet.
  2. Press the Power button on the control panel or remote control to turn the unit on. The flame effect will activate.
  3. Adjust the flame effect to your preference using the Flame Effect button.
  4. To activate the heater, use the Thermostat/Temperature Control buttons to set your desired temperature. The heater will begin to operate.
  5. To turn off the heater function while keeping the flame effect on, lower the temperature setting below the current room temperature or use the specific heat control if available (refer to the unit's display).

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your electric fireplace stove.

  • Cleaning: Always disconnect the power before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sprays. For glass surfaces, use a glass cleaner applied to a cloth, then wipe the glass.

  • Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, unplug it and store it in a dry, dust-free location.
