Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your kettle.
General Cleaning:
- Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the ceramic finish.
- Interior: The interior can be gently hand washed. Do not immerse the kettle body or power base in water.
- Lid: The lid can be washed with warm soapy water and rinsed thoroughly.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing or re-using.
Descaling:
Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. Descaling regularly will maintain efficiency and prolong the kettle's life.
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water, or use a commercial descaling solution according to its instructions.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer if scale is heavy.
- Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with fresh water several times to remove any vinegar residue.
- If necessary, repeat the process.
