Model: HACAJAEAA - Neon Red / Neon Blue
1. Product Overview
The Nintendo Joy-Con controllers are versatile input devices designed for use with the Nintendo Switch console. They offer multiple ways to play, supporting independent use in each hand, combined use with a Joy-Con grip, or attachment directly to the main console for handheld mode. Each Joy-Con features a full set of buttons and includes advanced sensors for motion control.
Key Features:
- Independent use in each hand or combined as one game controller.
- Attachable to the main console for handheld mode.
- Shareable with friends for two-player action in supported games.
- Full set of buttons on each controller.
- Built-in accelerometer and gyro-sensor for independent left and right motion control.
2. Setup and Connectivity
Attaching to Nintendo Switch Console:
To attach the Joy-Con controllers to your Nintendo Switch console, align the rail on the side of the Joy-Con with the rail on the console. Slide the Joy-Con downwards until you hear a click. The Joy-Con will automatically connect and register with the console.
Using with Joy-Con Grip:
For a more traditional controller feel, slide both the Left and Right Joy-Con controllers into the Joy-Con Grip (sold separately or included with some console bundles). Ensure the + and - buttons align correctly with the grip's indicators. Slide them down until they click into place.
Pairing as Individual Controllers:
Each Joy-Con can be used as a standalone controller for multiplayer games. To pair, detach the Joy-Con from the console or grip. Press the SYNC Button on the Joy-Con. On the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu, select 'Controllers' then 'Change Grip/Order' to register the individual Joy-Con.

3. Operating Your Joy-Con Controllers
Button Layout:
The Joy-Con controllers feature a comprehensive set of buttons for various gameplay interactions.
- Joy-Con (L): Left Stick (pressable), Directional/L/ZL/SL/SR/– Buttons, Capture Button, Release button, SYNC Button.
- Joy-Con (R): Right Stick (pressable), A/B/X/Y/R/ZR/SL/SR/+ Buttons, HOME Button, Release Button, SYNC Button.
Motion Controls:
Both Joy-Con controllers are equipped with an accelerometer and a gyroscope. These sensors enable precise motion control, allowing for intuitive gameplay experiences where physical movements translate into in-game actions. The Joy-Con (R) also includes an IR Motion Camera for additional interactive possibilities.
HD Rumble:
The Joy-Con controllers feature HD Rumble, providing nuanced and realistic vibrations that enhance immersion. This advanced haptic feedback system can simulate various sensations, from the feeling of individual ice cubes in a glass to the impact of an in-game explosion.
4. Care and Maintenance
Battery Information:
The Joy-Con controllers contain built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. The battery capacity is 525 mAh, providing approximately 20 hours of battery life depending on usage. A full recharge typically takes about 3.5 hours. Charge the controllers by attaching them to the Nintendo Switch console while it is docked or connected to its AC adapter, or by using a Joy-Con Charging Grip (sold separately).
Cleaning:
To clean your Joy-Con controllers, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface or internal components. Avoid getting moisture into any openings.
Storage:
Store your Joy-Con controllers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive humidity. When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to fully charge them before storage and periodically recharge them to maintain battery health.
5. Troubleshooting
Connection Issues:
- Controllers not connecting: Ensure the Joy-Cons are sufficiently charged. Try re-pairing them by detaching them from the console/grip and pressing the SYNC button, then re-attaching or re-registering via the HOME Menu.
- Intermittent connection: Ensure there are no large obstacles or sources of interference (e.g., other wireless devices, metal objects) between the Joy-Cons and the console.
Input Lag or Unresponsiveness:
- Delayed response: Check for system software updates for your Nintendo Switch console and Joy-Con controllers. Ensure you are within a reasonable range of the console.
- Drifting analog sticks: This may indicate a hardware issue. Refer to the official Nintendo support website for repair options or further troubleshooting.
