2. Setup
2.1 Connecting the Keyboard
- Locate the two USB connectors on the keyboard cable. One connector is for keyboard functionality, and the other is for the USB passthrough port located on the keyboard.
- Plug both USB connectors into available USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports on your computer. For optimal performance and to utilize the USB passthrough, it is recommended to connect both cables.
- The keyboard will automatically be detected by your operating system (Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista).
2.2 Software Installation (iCUE)
To unlock the full potential of your Corsair K95 RGB Platinum keyboard, including advanced macro programming, custom lighting effects, and profile management, download and install the Corsair iCUE software from the official Corsair website. The iCUE software allows for comprehensive customization and synchronization with other Corsair devices.

3. Operating the Keyboard
3.1 Programmable G-Keys
The keyboard features 6 dedicated programmable G-keys on the left side. These keys can be assigned single keystrokes or complex multi-key combinations (macros) for in-game commands or productivity tasks. Macro assignments are managed through the Corsair iCUE software.
3.2 Dynamic RGB Lighting
The K95 RGB Platinum offers dynamic multicolor per-key backlighting, allowing you to customize the color and illumination level of each individual key. Additionally, the 19-zone Light Edge along the top edge of the keyboard provides sophisticated and dramatic lighting animations. Lighting profiles can be created and managed using the iCUE software.
3.3 Media Controls and Volume Roller
Dedicated media control buttons (Stop, Previous, Play/Pause, Next) and a volume roller are located on the top right of the keyboard. These controls allow for convenient adjustment of audio playback without minimizing your current application.
3.4 Onboard Profile Storage
The keyboard includes 8MB of onboard profile storage, enabling you to save up to three custom profiles directly to the keyboard. This allows for hardware macro and lighting playback, providing access to your personalized settings even when connected to a different computer without the iCUE software installed.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Keyboard
- Regularly clean the keyboard surface with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- For dust and debris between keys, use compressed air.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish and keycaps.
4.2 Key Switch Care
The Cherry MX Speed mechanical key switches are designed for durability. Avoid excessive force when typing or cleaning. If a keycap needs to be removed, use a keycap puller to prevent damage to the switch stem.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Keyboard Not Responding
- Ensure both USB connectors are securely plugged into your computer's USB ports.
- Try connecting the keyboard to different USB ports on your computer.
- Restart your computer.
- Check if the keyboard is recognized in your computer's Device Manager.
5.2 RGB Lighting Issues
- Ensure the iCUE software is running and updated to the latest version.
- Check the lighting settings within iCUE to ensure a lighting profile is active and brightness is not set to zero.
- Perform a soft reset of the keyboard (refer to Corsair support documentation for specific instructions).
5.3 Key Input Issues (e.g., Chattering, Unresponsive Keys)
- Ensure the keyboard firmware is up to date via the iCUE software.
- Clean around the affected key with compressed air.
- If issues persist, contact Corsair customer support for further assistance.
