1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your HUO JI E-Yooso Z-88 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. Please read this manual thoroughly to ensure proper use and longevity of your device.

2. Package Contents

Ensure all items are present in the package:

• USB Cable (Type-A to Type-C detachable data cable)

3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Keyboard

1. Locate the USB Type-C port on the back of the keyboard.
2. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the keyboard. The cable features three channels for routing, allowing you to direct the cable to the left, right, or center for optimal desk setup.
3. Connect the USB Type-A end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer (Windows PC, Mac, PS4, or Xbox).
4. The keyboard will automatically be recognized by your operating system. No additional drivers are typically required for basic functionality.

3.2 Adjusting Keyboard Angle

The keyboard features adjustable feet on the underside to set your preferred typing angle for ergonomic comfort. Simply flip out the feet to raise the back of the keyboard.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 RGB Backlit Modes

The Z-88 keyboard features vibrant RGB backlighting with multiple modes and customization options:

• Change Backlit Mode: Press FN + PGDN to cycle through 14 different backlit modes.
• Change Backlit Color (for applicable modes): Press FN + '+' / '-' to change the color of 12 of the backlit modes. This includes 7 solid color backlit modes.
• Adjust Brightness: Press FN + Up Arrow / Down Arrow to adjust the backlight brightness.
• Adjust Speed: Press FN + Left Arrow / Right Arrow to adjust the speed of dynamic backlit effects.

4.2 Multimedia Shortcuts

The keyboard includes convenient multimedia shortcuts accessible via the Function (FN) key:

4.3 Anti-Ghosting and N-Key Rollover

The Z-88 keyboard features full anti-ghosting with N-key rollover, meaning all 81 mechanical keys can be pressed simultaneously without conflict. This ensures every keystroke is registered accurately, providing ultimate performance for gaming and fast typing.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Hot-Swappable Switches

The Z-88 keyboard is equipped with hot-swappable Outemu Blue switches, allowing for easy replacement without soldering. This feature enhances the keyboard's longevity and customization options.

5.2 Cleaning and Care

• Use the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps for cleaning.
• Wipe the keyboard surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
• The keyboard is designed to be splash-resistant. Accidental spills do not mean game over, but it is recommended to clean any liquid spills immediately to prevent damage.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Keyboard Not Responding

• Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
• Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port on your computer.
• Test the keyboard on another computer to rule out system-specific issues.

6.2 Specific Keys Not Working

• Since the switches are hot-swappable, a faulty key can often be resolved by replacing the switch. Use the provided switch puller to carefully remove the problematic switch and insert a spare one.
• Ensure the keycap is properly seated on the switch stem.

6.3 Backlighting Issues

• Verify that the backlight is not turned off or set to minimum brightness using FN + Up Arrow.
• Cycle through different lighting modes using FN + PGDN to see if the issue persists across all modes.
• Perform a factory reset by pressing FN + ESC.
