4. Package Contents
The BTF-LIGHTING SK6812 RGBW LED Strip package typically includes:
- 1x SK6812 RGBW LED Strip (16.4ft/5m roll)
- 1x 3-pin JST-SM Male Connector
Note: A power supply and controller are NOT included and must be purchased separately.

5. Setup and Installation
5.1 Required Components (Sold Separately)
- DC 5V Power Supply: A stable 5V DC power supply is essential. For a 5-meter strip (90W total), a 5V 20A (100W) power supply is recommended to ensure adequate power.
- LED Controller: An individually addressable LED controller (e.g., K-1000C, SP630E, SP530E) is required to control the strip's colors and effects.
5.2 Connection Diagram
Follow the diagram below for proper connection of the LED strip to a controller and power supply. Ensure correct polarity (+5V, Data, GND).

5.3 Cutting and Extending
The LED strip can be cut at designated points, typically marked with a copper pad, to adjust its length. It can also be extended by connecting multiple strips using the 3-pin JST-SM connectors. Ensure that the data direction is maintained (Din to Do).

5.4 Mounting
- IP30/IP65 Versions: These versions typically feature adhesive tape on the back for easy mounting on clean, dry surfaces.
- IP67 Version: This version is designed for outdoor use and usually requires screws and clips for secure installation, as it does not have adhesive tape.
6. Operation
Once connected to a compatible controller and power supply, the SK6812 RGBW LED strip can be operated to display a wide range of colors and dynamic lighting effects.
- Color Selection: Utilize your controller's interface (e.g., app, remote) to select desired colors. The dedicated Natural White LED provides a pure white light (4000K-5000K).
- Dynamic Effects: Most compatible controllers offer various pre-programmed effects such as chasing, flowing water, raindrop, and flash animations.
- Brightness Adjustment: Adjust the overall brightness or individual pixel brightness through your controller.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the LED strip with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Water Resistance: The IP30 version is non-waterproof and intended for indoor use only. Avoid exposure to moisture or liquids. IP65 versions have a silicone coating and are splash-proof, suitable for damp indoor environments. IP67 versions have silicone sheathing and are designed for outdoor use, offering protection against water immersion.
- Power Supply: Ensure the power supply is adequately rated for the length of the LED strip to prevent overheating or damage.

8. Troubleshooting
- LEDs Not Lighting Up / Only First Few LEDs Work:
- Check Power Supply: Ensure the DC 5V power supply is correctly connected and provides sufficient current for the entire strip length.
- Controller Configuration: Verify that your LED controller is correctly configured for the SK6812 chip type and the total number of LEDs in your strip. Incorrect settings can lead to partial illumination.
- Data Connection: Confirm the data line (Din) is correctly connected from the controller to the strip, and the data direction is followed if multiple strips are chained.
- Flickering or Inconsistent Colors:
- Power Fluctuation: This can indicate an insufficient power supply. Upgrade to a higher amperage power supply or inject power at multiple points along longer strips.
- Loose Connections: Check all wiring connections for secure contact.
- Damaged LEDs: Individual LED failures can cause flickering in sections. If a segment is consistently flickering, it may indicate a damaged LED or connection within that segment.
- Adhesive Not Holding (for IP30/IP65 versions):
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the mounting surface is thoroughly cleaned and dry before applying the strip. Use rubbing alcohol to remove oils and dust.
- Reinforce: If the included adhesive is insufficient for your application, consider using additional high-quality double-sided tape or mounting clips.
